Bellua sat on the roof of a random building, cross town was a nice place if you ignored the bandits and other ne'er do wells. She giggled to herself as she stared out onto the streets, she had all of this city to do with as she pleased, she could explore, find villains to thwart, maybe steal something valuable. She blinked and looked about before dropping down to the street, she was wearing one of her more favorite outfits, made to work in junction with her monster hunting. The basic collared white shirt was tough and had no special designs on it but it was her over clothes that she really liked. Her vest and skirt were specially made, meant to go with her other equipment, not that she had any. She kinda skipped out before she could benefit from any of her training. As such she had no special equipment but maybe she could find some?
Good god she was bored, she was looking for something, anything of interest but not being sure where to go she ended up wandering aimlessly like she normally did. No, no! getting discouraged now would only be a waste of time! She straighten up and held her head high just in time to find herself staring down the barrel of a lacrima revolver. She put her hands up a large dopey smile appearing on her face.
"Be quiet and give us all you got." Said the voice behind the barrel. Bellua couldn't help but giggle at that. Why should she give them anything because they had a gun to her head? Lacrima guns were funny little toys, oh sure they were deadly but they were mostly for show. "Hey! Hurry up and give us your stuff, and we won't have to hurt you."
"Oh? You're gonna hurt lil' ole me? Why I can be real accommodating if you give me a chance." She said resisting the urge to add the patronizing singsong. "If you want my things here, let me give you something you can tell your friends about." She laughed falling backwards kicking the gun out of the man's hand with her view no longer obstructed by metal she righted herself up and jumped at the man before he get his balance back. She enjoyed the enhanced strength of her Devil slayer training, picking man up and bodily throwing him into his friend. His only friend. She stopped and scratched her head. "I am getting mugged by two guys? Not a whole gang? Am I being pranked?" She questioned putting her hands on her hips kinda forgetting that her opponents were still armed despite being in a funny little thug pile.
Raven found himself in Cross Town. It was the last civilized piece of land between him and his destination. Sunglasses obscured his draconian eyes from the vision of the random people milling the streets. His leather jacket was covered in dust, but the crimson wings on the back seemed unmarred as the glinted in the light. His boots and black pants were also covered in dust from the road. It helped mask his scent from others with special noses. On his back was his sword, and over his shoulder was his bag of travel needs.
Speaking of scents, there was a strange yet familiar scent on the air. It wasn't her but it was someone like her. The thought of danger did excite Raven a little, so he wasted no time in tracking down the source of the scent. His wanderings brought him to a scene unfolding. One held the girl, whom Raven suspected to be the source of the scent, at gun point. But before he could intervene she sorted the two men out.
"I'd ask if you're okay," Raven said stepping out. He walked up next to the mystery girl, but kept a comfortable distance from her. When he came to a stop he rested his free hand on his hip and looked at the two men. This wasn't the first time Raven had moved to assist someone that didn't need it. Which was fine. But it did mean if that was the only reason he'd shown up he'd have wasted his time. Thankfully he was here for other reasons. "But you can apparently take care of yourself."

"Of course I can. Just because they're calling these times of peace, doesn't mean you can go around as moderately cute girl walking around in a place full of bandits and the like, and not know how to take care of yourself." she huffed with pride crossing her arms and nodding to herself. That's just irresponsible." she finished up looking over to the man who had opened his mouth. A good Samaritan looking to help or a creep looking to get in good with a mark? Bellua actually didn't care either way, his motives didn't change her own. the two thugs, she hesitated to call them bandits because that would imply a success rate seemed flustered enough she should give them one last kick in the pants and send them home. Then maybe she could get on with her business, or find something interesting to do, hey maybe the new guy could be useful.
"Oh." Bellua's eyes focus on the second man the one who had held back when she while his friend did the dirty work. His arm was moving, a flash of metal and light. Bellua moved before the thought registered. she ducked forwards claiming the first man's fallen weapon off the ground and snapping the barrel off before hurling it at his accomplice's hand knocking the metal device out of his grip. "Ha! Too slow." She cheered smirking at the man as her brain caught up with the rest of her another gun, Well it made sense, but it was such a boring reveal, she ignored the fact that having just had another person thrown on him, his reflexes and movement might not be quite up to par. Oh well maybe she'd get luckywith her entertainment at least, maybe her would be savior was more interesting than these two. "Thanks for coming to help." She said standing up and walking over to the second weapon and snatching it from the ground. "You didn't really do anything, but you look like you wanted to help. It's the thought that counts, well, as long as you put of elbow grease behind it that is."
She turned towards the man and flashed him a smile before taking a proper look at him. Right and proper large man he was, broad and typically handsome though his style of dress was anything but typical, outlandish was a much better word. She liked his gloves though, maybe she should get a pair, woah...wait. That was weird she could smell something new? faint but definitely not something she smelled before. She looked back up at the man's sunglasses, she couldn't help but smirk at that. "Nice to meet ya, I'm Bellua Deamon."
It was all Raven could do to shrug and sigh. People never gave up... But she had a point. It was irresponsible to not take care of one's self. Still, it was kind of pathetic, watching two grown men get tossed around like that. She obviously didn't care t hat she didn't seem normal. Such reckless behavior was going to lead to trouble one day...
"Raven," he replied with a small shrug. Though he took on a slight grin of his own as he set is bag down. Walking over to the men he tied them up so they wouldn't cause trouble for them for a bit. With them out of the picture he dusted off his hands. So he knew she had magic, and that she smelled siimilar to someone he knew. She also didn't smell like aniimals. And now he had a name for her face. It was a good start.
"Where did you learn to fight like that?" He asked as he eyeballed her as well. She wasn't bad looking, though she certainly looked the part of the inexperienced girl on her own. Smooth, fair skin. Hair done simply... The list went on. Most striking to him however was her eyes. Those weren't a common color. But rather than focus on that he turned his attention to her abilities.

"Nice to meet you Raven," She replied happily, she busied her hands with deconstructing the weapon and taking out the lacrima. She rolled the weighted crystal like ball of magic... that was what is was right? oh well. She pocketed the thing, before putting her thumb on her chin. "Where did I learn to fight? Oh, I come from Arbeless, everyone is required to be a part of the military there. Training starts young cause you're expected to keep, 'the mongrels of Valland out of the homeland'" She said mockingly imitating her old teacher with a voice that she imagined was more harsh and militaristic than it really was. She shrugged not really viewing the details as important. She was far more interested in what was going to happened next, mostly because of the guys weird scent which was easier to smell now that she focused on it. She wasn't convinced that her magic actually increased her sense of smell maybe the old man was just trying to oversell it.
"Why do you wanna know? Looking for some lessons? Pretty sure there are a bunch of other places that'd give you better skills without compromising any moral code you might have." She mention waving her hand back and forth and not hiding her distaste for her old place of learning. "Well I suppose it'd make more sense if you were just getting information on a 'possible threat', I remember the old man saying something like that made a big deal about not trusting anyone from the homeland, such a pain." She complained, there was much better things to do than to mistrust others. Besides people were too interesting for her to just go full paranoid nutter on them. Not like the information of where she learned how to fight would come back to bite her anyways. what like a handful of people would even care? Among them and even smaller amount would feel the need to do something about? Her home wasn't as important as it's residents thought it was.

"I see..." Things began to make more sense. That still didn't wholly explain the similar undertone to her scent. But he was willing to not directly ask about it for the time being. Instead he watched her pocket the lacrima. The muggers wouldn't need it anymore. She'd damaged more than their weapons after all. "I'm plenty strong as is," Raven said confidently as he gave a nod. Despite the bravado he dd nothing to actually show off. Well, outside grinning a little. Not enough to show off the elongated fangs he had, but it was a cocky grin. "I don't think the world wants me getting stronger. No, it was mostly just curiosity."
"Though, I would prefer if you didn't blow up large chunks of Fiore," Raven said in a joking tone. He was serious though, he wasn't going to just let people do as they pleased to Fiore. Too many already had for needless and pointless reasons. Some of which he'd furthered at one point... shaking that off he shrugged. "Though, I doubt that was your intention."

"Oh no, no, no, I don't have any goal involving destructing in general much less Fiore, besides I'm pretty sure if I tried something someone from Fairy Tail would immediately show up and stop me from the way people talk about them." She said stopping and flashing Raven a smile, she shrugged. "Or the veritable legion of hero's this country seems to spawn, nope if it were up to me I would lead my evil conquest and conduct my devilish plans somewhere the exact diametric opposite of Fiore." She giggled walking over and offering her hand to Raven.
"I highly doubt the world would have a problem with you getting stronger though, considering how much of a nice guy you seem to be." She replied, a mischievous light entering her eyes after a moment. "Well unless you had an ulterior motive for coming to help me, you wouldn't be the first. prolly won't be the last. At least I hope not." She said, the playful tone in her voice obvious and friendly. She was in a great mood, she stopped a couple of amateur muggers and met a man dressed like he was going to be the main star in a gentlewomen's club, didn't help that he had that generic handsomeness that a bunch of girls would probably go wild for. His outfit however was really distracting.

"That's one less worry then," Raven afforded himself a small smile as he took her hand an shook it. Upon skin contact his skin would feel unnaturally warm. After shaking it quickly he let go and folded his arms against his chest. He took in her words with a more neutral face. He didn't need to be stronger. Other people needed to be stronger so he could fade away.
"U-ulterior motives?!" He stepped back in surprise. Mostly because he didn't know for sure what she meant, but he had a good idea. And he didn't save people for that reason! He hadn't really tried outside one case, and that didn't get too far. Though looking at her he supposed he could see why people would save her for that reason.
"I don't save people for a reward of any kind," He shook his head covering everything just in case he was wrong. His cheeks were tinged pink though. "I simply have the strength to. And the strong should use their power to help those in need. It's the responsibility we bear. At least I think so. Though sometimes I accept money so I can eat."
"I'm glad then!" Bellua responded taking his hand shaking it, oh wow he was a bit warmer than most people, then again he was wearing leather in the desert so, who know? Maybe he was really good at not showing that he was suffering from heat stroke. "Oho~" she spoke in response to Raven denying having ulterior motives. She figured him for more of the punk type for how he dressed anyways, Well she had been wrong before. "No ulterior motives? You sure? Darnit how am I supposed to get a semi-nice guy to show me around town now?" she asked rolling her eyes before she flashed Raven a grin. "Don't worry about it, I'm used to entertaining myself anyways so it's not like you're under obligation or anything." She said trying her best not to laugh.
"So A strong civil servant with no ulterior motives, I swear this country is like a different world sometimes. This place and it's strange people. Nearly everyone I've met here has been weird, you're certainly no exception to that." She paused to think for a single moment before clapping her hands together. "Still you sound like a nice guy, how about we do something fun... actually I've never been around here before this. What is there to do around here other than beating up muggers? Not that I wouldn't love finding more jerks to beat up but what's the likeliness that someone else is going to try and rob me today?"
Last Edit: Jul 31, 2015 16:13:44 GMT by Bellua Daemon: Because otherwise Bellua had mind reading powers.
"Hey..." He protested weakly. He felt like he should be insulted by being called weird from the strange smelling girl. But he didn't press his protesting further. Instead he just sighed and rubbed the back of his head. What was he to do now? If he just left her alone she'd just cause trouble. She seemed like the kind of person to do that. Which was promptly proven right when she stated she'd enjoy beating up muggers.
"I suppose I could," Raven finally said with a small shrug. He had little tto lose and was pretty bored himself. Though he didn't really let down his guard either. Though, his guard was the aloof and carefree attitude, which for first impressions was pretty flawless. At least in Raven's opinion. "Though, I haven been back in western Fiore in nearly ten years."
"So I don't really know what's still around, what isn't, and what's moved in," He said with another carefree shrug. "I'm not in any rush at the moment so looking around wouldn't kill me any."
"Oh, that was rude wasn't it? Sorry can't help myself sometimes, I don't mean it as an insult either I totally prefer this country and it's people than my own. Everything is so new and interesting and strange. It's so fun here." She babbled grinning at Raven she was having fun just talking if she was honest. She liked people, found them mostly interesting, it was like walking into one of those wonder shops back home where the shop owner brought something random out to you, a lot of things were plain but there was occasionally a gem. She wasn't a jeweler however, she could separate the gems of actual worth from the shiny rocks, she was better at judging people, she thought. She should probably stop comparing people to gems before the metaphor got away from her and she said something insulting again.
"Right so lead the way Mister Raven, You've been here before, ten years ago is better than not at all in my book. Show me something interesting!" She said walking behind raven and giving him a light playful push forwards, She wasn't about to waste her time. She was investing time in this Raven, she was going to have herself a good time, OH. Maybe they would get lost, that was always fun. Getting lost in the West fighting off powerful creatures maybe finding some ancient and powerful items. That sounded like an adventure worth her time. Or maybe he would know his way around find a nice place to eat or something a nice quiet evening was nice to every once in a while.
"It was boring where you lived before?" He asked as he found himself being pushed. Physical contact was't something he did much so it was a little more noticeable to him that it probably should have been. As such it took a moment to get his legs moving. Once they were moving though, he took long strides and set a good pace. While he looked like he had a purpose or destination in mind he really didn't.
"I don't recognize most of these streets or places..." He said frowning as they went. There used to be a doll shop on a corner that all the girls used to come to. It looked like it was a book store now. Further down a place that used to be a favorite tavern was just an empty building now. As he led her around town more his stride shortened, before finally coming to a stop.
"I don't know this part of town at all," He said frowning and looking around. He didn't even know where they were now. He could probably track their way back, but that didn't change what was before him. It made him realize just how slowly he seemed to age. People had moved on, and there was so much more now.
"I think I'm lost," Raven said deciding to feign being normal. There were fewer questions that way. He looked around again to add to the act before continuing. "This whole section of town used to be a wooded area. It grew pretty fast..."
"Well.... boring is the wrong word really, it was intense and all, but it definitely wasn't fun. Arbaless is militaristic by nature being surrounded by an invading country will do that I guess." Bellua shrugged in response, home was not a place she liked and she made not even a tiny effort to hide her annoyance with the place. "Basically fun wasn't allowed, everyone was drafted, if you had a inch more talent for it than the average then you got shipped of to the black arts school." It was such a pain, really, no choice, no freedom, nothing but endless serving of a country that only cared about whether or not it would be under it's own rule the next year. Then she got quiet, she didn't like the quiet, too awkward, she rather talk but she wasn't sure what to say.
"Wait, This place used to be wooded?" Bellua asked incredulously covering her eyes with a hand as she looked in the general direction of the sun. "Then why is this place hot as sin and basically looks like a desert to me? Bleh." She complained as they walked, waving a hand back and forth trying to cool down, she hated the excess heat, it built up and made things oh unpleasant. Still the idea that they might be lost was fun, it was better not knowing where they might be. Though she was fairly certain this was still town, not lost, lost, but close enough. "Soo, um, Did I over step my bounds when I tapped you or something? You kinda froze for a second there when I gave you a little push." She at first thought he didn't know where to go when she saw him hesitate like that, but it didn't really make much sense to her for some reason. Well her assumptions weren't normally wrong and he definitely paused there. Did she do something? Maybe she had been to pushy again she did that alot.
"...I see..." Raven shook his head slowly. Forced into it huh? He was forced into being a dragon slayer. He didn't used to see it as a negative thing though. Fun... Responsibility... It was almost as if he was seeing a path he could have walked, but chose not to. Shrugging that thought off he took a couple small steps forward.
"Well, by wooded I meant there was a hand full of trees," Raven clarified. He could still see it... and smell it. The kids that ran around playing random games and the parents that watched them. "The desert had always been encroaching in areas where there wasn't a body of water. It would have eventually died out so they probably cut down the few trees that were here."
"Eh?" He glanced back at Bellua as he took slow steps forward. He pushed up his sunglasses to keep his eyes hidden before replying. "I travel alone most of the time. So the only time I'm really touched is if some one is trying to kill me. Which is more often than you'd think. So you surprised me more than anything."

"Oh for a second there I thought I might've been going crazy, at least this heat isn't making me hallucinate or anything, that would ruin an otherwise pretty entertaining day." She sighed, this place was interesting but the heat was so annoying why couldn't it be a pleasant warmth instead of this incredible heat that made everything all...well it made everything hot and unbearable that was the point of this line of thought. Bellua looked over at raven and smiled at his response, he kinda sounded like an old man, who knows maybe she was talking to a guy who had immortality as his magic, oh that would be interesting. what was it like to live for such a long time?
"You seem like such a nice guy, if a bit hard to talk to, why would people wanna kill you?" Bellua asked walking behind Raven as he took a few steps forwards. "So you don't get touched often? That's kinda sad actually Isn't that like how did he say it? 'Half of humanity's social culture'? I don't think that's right for some reason but still it's pretty important right? You don't ever get hug or hold someone's hand? Just violence? What do I even say to that?" She asked aloud, that poor guy, must be paranoid, or very nearly right? The only time someone tried to come in physical contact with him was when they wanted him dead, and that could happen at any time. That was a sobering thought, The only time he expected to be touched was when someone tried to kill him. That was really sad. Too sad.
