A predatory smile gave way to a slim, dark haired, jaded beauty. Darkened wisps covered her hands as more knives appeared. Everything about her screamed dark- from the half suit she wore to the blackened irises that gleamed against the white of her sclera. “What is sharp is the darkness that makes you bleed when everyone is watching.” As she spoke, smoky tendrils slowly emerged from the floor boards from which Roxanne and Silver stood and curled up their shoes and wrapped around their ankles. At the same moment, she threw twice as many knives.
Cobalt orbs narrowed dangerously as Roxanne deflected the knives meant for her back. “Coward.” She knew all was fair in murder and war but attacks at the back lost all respect… Not that respect was ever a player in this game. Using one Manji sai, she sent the shadow blades flying to the sides. There was a yelp outside. “Asa.” Silver turned her head towards the front door, it would seem one suspect had indeed left through the front door only to be confronted by Asa. As she attempted to turn towards the door, her feet caught in the unknown woman’s shadow magic. Her free hand rose, she made a fist and yanked forward. The railing pulled off and yanked forward on its hinges, hitting the woman and disrupting her concentration enough that Silver jumped to the side.
She glanced at Roxanne, “Apprehend, kill in defense.” Silver was taking a chance and breaking all the rules in the process. But Asa would not yelp unless the fight had tilted in the suspect’s favor. The front door crashed to the floor as the hinges broke and the doorknob melted with Silver sprinting through the frame.

"Wait... is that supposed to be an incantation, or some lame fighting quip?" Roxanne raised an eyebrow just as a tendril wrapped around her leg. Oh, right, life or death situation. One sword slashed at the tendril, her burning magic eating away at the magic of the smokey tendril while the other just barely deflected the worst of the knives. She was able to twist and only suffer surface cuts from the others. The twist followed through and she used the momentum to lob the off-hand sword at the woman.
She nodded as Silver moved to save her dog, returning her attention to the woman. She had deflected the blade, but it had also bought Roxanne some time in which there were no daggers or smokey tentacles reaching for their limbs. Roxanne was still rather upset at almost getting blown up, and dark-haired beauty or not, there was a lesson to be learned.
More blades assailed Roxanne, but an explosion of fire and magic sent them flying uselessly away. In the smoke, she had disappeared this time as the woman's smile faded, replaced with surprise. She saw movement just in time to raise an arm and a tendril to block Roxanne's counter attack with one of the knives.
The knives that had been tossed at Silver and Roxanne were quickly retrieved by the woman's magic, and Roxanne knew she was hoping the sheer number of daggers would overwhelm the redheaded Templar-to-be. The sword Roxanne was missing reappeared in her own hand. "Sorry, I don't have time for this. I've got orders to follow, and I aim to please."

The moment she stepped outside instincts took over. It was a good thing her instincts were quite good. She ducked as an ice axe swung where her neck was. The blade was solid and stuck in the door frame; that was how hard it was swung. What was more noticeable was the wielder. An ice skeleton- who does that? The skeleton pulled at the axe attempting to remove it from the door frame. Silver lifted a heavy black boot and kicked it so hard it fell backwards. Grabbing the ice axe and using the same boot as leverage on the frame, she pulled the blade from the door frame. Turning just in time as the skeleton lurched at her, she swung the blade and obliterated its head. Down fell the skeleton.
Dropping the blade, she shook her hands. Ice weapons not for unprotected hands. Turning she saw why Asa yelped. An unknown woman and the dog faced off. The dog in question had two ice spears impaling her. Despite this, Asa refused to allow the woman to leave. The woman held an ice long sword and was in the processing of swinging the blade at the already bloodied Asa. Her hand grabbed behind her back, wrapped around the handle of two slim blades and threw them at the woman’s blade hand. One stuck in the handle of the blade and the other in the back of the woman’s hand, making her drop the blade and turning with a hiss. Pale, blond, and ice blue eyes. The woman pulled the blade from her hand and dropped it.
“You have taken liberties with my partner and that is unforgivable. I am a Lieutenant with the Templars, you are under arrest. You have one chance to surrender peacefully.” Silver was past niceties. Silver was pissed off. She knew the woman was not going to surrender and while she would not take pleasure in killing the woman, Silver doubted the woman would leave this yard outside of a box.
As suspected, the woman merely gave her a feral smile. “Trident will have your head; he may even be swayed by your audacity to float it in a tank.” She snapped both of her hands and each spot beside her began to swirl and expand with ice flurries. Two more skeletons appeared. One with a broad axe and another with a long sword. The woman turned to the front gate and ultimately Asa, who crouched and growled low. “How are you even still standing mutt?”
With narrowed eyes, she withdrew both Manji Sai. One blade faced forward, the other behind as she crouched like Asa. She dodged to the right as the long sword came slashing downward and ducked while stepping inward as the axe came at her horizontally. She stabbed the skeleton through the jaw and up through the skull. With her other blade she decapitated it. She whipped the blade with the skull at the other skeleton, hitting it hard enough that it stumbled.
Without pause, Silver turned to the woman just to watch as she punched Asa who had torn into the woman’s leg. The dog dropped, whimpering. The woman stepped over Asa to walk out of the yard. Silver jumped and kicked the leg that Asa had bit which sent the woman rolling. She sprung to her feet only to be met by Silver. Silver’s instant attack put the woman on the defensive, calling up ice blades similar to Silver’s to block and parry. With a force of strength, their blades locked. “What is Trident’s goal?” The woman laughed in her face. “Ask him yourself. He should be quite pleased by the Templars presence.” Cobalt eyes narrowed, her metal blades heated and with the added pressure the ice blades broke. Without hesitation she stabbed both of her blades into the chest of the woman diagonally. The hair on the back of her neck stood up and Silver tucked her head down and the cold air of the ice sword swooshed past and decapitated its own creator. The sudden jerk of the body and the fact that her blades were still locked inside the woman had her falling to the side.

Roxanne exited the building to see the last of the fight scene playing out. She didn't even blink as the woman was decapitated, simply dropping the hands she'd been patting together as if to remove dirt or dust. "Yeah, so, mine's still alive, but I'm not sure she'll be very useful for questioning for a few days..." she admitted, thinking of the woman whose' jaw was probably nicely broken, tied up and more than a little unconcious inside. She wouldn't have the help of her magic either, what with the antimagic cuff she'd been handed by Silver earlier.
"So what was that about being pleased with Templar presence? I mean, if he's pleased at this point he's a sicker guy than I gave him credit for." She knelt down next to Asa, gently examining the dog. She was no animal expert, but a wound was a wound, or so she figured. "You okay, girl?" She had to ask. She wasn't really an animal person, but Asa was alright by her book. She was a pretty smart creature after all.
"This Trident guy is still around, which means our job isn't over," she placed her hands on her hips as she stood up. All things told, she didn't look any worse for wear than when she'd gone into the fight, beyond a few cuts in her jacket that would probably mend when she returned it to the pocked dimension she had set aside for it. That and the few minor cuts she'd gotten in the initial surprise assault. Roxanne flipped her hair back over her shoulder, turning around part way to glance at the house. Where was this Trident guy hiding? Had he actually seen his two companions defeated? If he had so much as half a grin on his face, Roxanne was going to wipe it off as permanently as possible.

The ice skeleton crumbled the moment the woman’s head left her body. Silver pushed herself up using her hands. Standing, she took out a cloth from an outside pocket of her jacket and wiped her hands before turning it over and wiping her face, not exactly getting all of the splattered blood. Splatter tends to happen when a person is decapitated in front of you.
Silver was more pissed off than anything. “Good. I may have gotten pissed off. So at least we will have one suspect alive. And we have healers at headquarters though I will make sure the process is not pleasant.” After a quick examination of the body and head, she turned to find Roxanne kneeling next to Asa asking if the canine was alright. She let out a relieved breath. So long as Asa did not suffer an instant fatal wound, the chances of her surviving were high due to the hidden lacrima embedded in her chest.
As Silver knelt next to the striped beast, she placed a hand on her body and pulled the two ice blades out of her. Grabbing Asa’s muzzle, she lifted the dog’s head and looked into her eyes. “Concussion. She got you good huh girl? You kept her from escaping though, good girl. Stay and rest.” Standing up she shrugged out of her jacket, taking a few things out of hidden pockets and placing them on her person, she draped the jacket over Asa. Turning to Roxy she replied, “I don’t know what the Templars have to do with this or how they factor into this insane scenario. Did you see the upstairs of the house?” To be honest she was glad Roxanne was not only okay but had followed through on the orders given, even better than herself. She was going to have to report to the Captain and would probably be benched. Whatever.

"I'd say Templars were probably mean to his mommy," Roxanne commented offhandedly as the pair turned their attention back to the job at hand and away from the recovering dog. "I didn't see much of the upstairs, I was more concerned with making sure their murder count didn't go any higher. I haven't exactly seen you in action before, you know." The redhead took the lead, walking back into the house and ducking through the door. She wondered where this glorious leader was; was he waiting on them?
If so it was probably some sort of trap, and if not that meant that his lady lackies had sorely misunderstood their role should trouble arise. "I'm admittedly glad to see I'm not the only one that can fight. Though..." She turned and gave Silver a bit of a wink, her normal personality having returned at least somewhat now that she was less distracted by potential ambushers. "You look good in red, but blood isn't really your color."
“Not that rank matters in our partnership but you don’t become a lieutenant in the Templars without knowing how to scrap. Most higher-ups are secretly junkyard dogs in uniforms who now have leashes. Take off the leash… ” Silver stated and trailed off as she followed the enthusiastic woman.
At the wink and mention of blood, Silver shook her head. “Your incorrigible. And trust, a shower is in my immediate future.”
They entered the house, Silver behind Roxanne. Music was now playing, the eerily haunting tune coming from somewhere upstairs. The upstairs had been renovated. Excluding the wall that separated the hallway from the rest of the upstairs, there was only one door. The door in question was closed. Once opened it would reveal a room that encompassed the entire upstairs as all inner walls were taken down with only main support beams to show the previous floor plan. The wall on the right held fish tanks of all things. But instead of fish some were empty, others held heads. In the back center of the room there was a high backed chair, a man sat upon the seat. The music was coming from a player that sat to his right.

"Hey, I pride myself on certain aspects of incorrigibility. You don't get the girl by half-assing it you know," she winked. Being partners was soooo not going to stop Roxanne, regardless of what was considered appropriate in the rather large Templar handbook she'd been handed when she'd left Albel's office. He'd said to memorize it. She had. So what? "That said I'm also totally corrigible. I'm here, after all. Though that doesn't mean I can't help you get nice and clean when we're done if you'd like a little help~"
The pair stepped into the house, and Roxanne became more serious again. It wasn't that they hadn't been on the clock; they hadn't been within the lair of this last evil guy, technically, and he had shown no signs of coming after them outside. Even after the two lovely ladies he'd turned had been dispatched.
Roxanne noted the change in how the upstairs looked nicer than the downstairs, assumedly even before a bomb went off to destroy the kitchen. Roxanne didn't bother giving a third warning, she just kicked the door open and quickly stepped aside in case something was coming at her. The guy was tricky after all. Her eyes should have locked on the man in the high chair, but instead they lingered on the fish tanks. Those were definitely not fish. "Nice music. Does it drown out the sound of the girls you let be hurt or killed to do your oh so righteous work?"
“And if I actually took you up on your offer…” Silver muttered under her breath while shaking her head yet again. It was like being at the bar again without Asa to run interference. Good thing work was calling.
Silver followed Roxanne’s lead and dodged to the other side of the door, blades ready. A patch of red and white caught her eye. Despite her icy focus on the man in the chair, her gaze turned to the tanks. Two of the faces were ones that Silver recognized. They were missing Templars. Her stomach bottomed out, their clouded eyes staring with a bleakness that only death (and water submersion) could bring. She licked her dry lips, turning her focus onto the shadowed figure. She threw one of her blades at the man with deadly accuracy. It was knocked aside by a whip of water with the ease of a skilled water caster.
She had not thought that one who could take down so many would be easy to eliminate but her use of her blade had gained them some knowledge of the man’s arsenal. It seemed oddly appropriate that the man with a triton would have the element of water.
“I must be favored upon the gods that Templars should stand before me and without my needing to cast a line.” His comment was accompanied by a deep chuckle. A stretch of his legs, and light danced off the golden triton he now held in his hand.

Roxanne wasn't affected by the sight of the dead templars. She was no murderer, but she was no stranger to others killing people around her either. Not too long ago it had been just part of her life - something she was forced to live with and accept. Now, she could make the man pay. The sword was easily deflected by the water wizard. Most wizards with fire-based magic might have re-evaluated picking a fight with someone with such opposing magic. Not Roxanne though. She was a lot more than just a fire wizard - she was a requip wizard as well - the former Hellknight. She was a lot higher on the bad guy totem pole than this guy ever was.
"Yeah, yeah. Fish humor, water wizard. Neither of us are fat enough for you to want to keep on the line anyway," she shrugged as a flame that gave way to her two-handed sword appeared. She rested the large blade on her shoulder, a cocky grin accompanying it. "Look, forgive me if I can't take you seriously, but keeping people's heads in fish tanks? Really? That's just disgusting. Not to mention asking for trouble from the Templars." The sword swung off of her shoulder, landing with a loud thud on the ground. She was wielding it with one hand from the magical enhancement that came with this particular sword. "I'm going to kick your butt, but it'll be Silver who decides your fate once you're subdued and sincerely regretting messing with us."
