"Busy work isn't so bad. It's not like there's a shortage of jobs to do if that's your thing still." Regardless of anything else, the so-called Shadow Lord was hardly the lord of shadows anymore. He was either dead and gone, or he was beaten into submission and disappeared to lick his wounds. Either way, Kotone was hardly concerned. She probably should have been, but considering all of his supporters, the situations he'd set up, and basically anything else he'd had in reserve had been destroyed. she adjusted her sitting position a bit, keeping her arm on the table. "Paranoid or not there's plenty to do to keep your skills up. I've been practicing extra hard lately to give myself something to do."
Unlike Atrum, Kotone had always wanted peace. She'd just taken a long time to adjust to it once it had happened. She wanted a bit more action but at the same time she was happy Eri didn't have to worry about invading countries or dark guilds with plans to take over the world. There would always be trouble, and she planned to ready the girl for such things, but at least she didn't have to make it her life as Kotone had.
"I suppose you are right." Atrum said after a long moment of pause, he glanced at the pup who had finished her meal and pushed the bowl towards him. He grabbed the bowl and placed it on the table and continued eating his in silence for a while. He took the pup and dropped her in his pack and resisted a yawn. He gave Kotone a look, she was strong and had a family of her own. People that depended on her, he was glad she was happy, she had earned it if she had it. He gave her his trademark smile and pulled out his wallet laying the money for the food on the table. The pup gave Kotone a yip and Atrum chuckled. "She says it has been nice seeing you again. I agree It has been nice I am starting to feel the distance from my end as well." He sighed and stood up stretching his body out.
"I need to keep moving unfortunately. Tracking the thief of my hat. Apparently a doppelganger of myself or something along those lines..." Atrum paused a thoughtful look crossing his face as he thought about his current quarry. "I said it before I feel like something terrible is about to happen, this may seem a bit asinine considering but please be careful. I do not make many real friends I would hate to lose you, just keep on your toes and crush your foes like you always do...you should be fine." He didn't say it aloud, but he was worried that whatever was causing him to feel so worried might be more than any one person could take on alone. He was scared of losing his new friends like he lost most of his clan. For some reason he felt like things might be going that way. It was always when he was happiest that terrible things happened after all. His people were reckless in battle, but the one thing they cared about more than anyone else was their loved ones. "Feel free to contact me later. I would not mind doing this again."

Kotone brushed her hair from her face as she watched Atrum talk about his clone, as well as about the bad feeling he was having again. She wasn't as concerned as he was, partially because she didn't have that same feeling. Was he paranoid or did he know something she didn't? Either way, she was sure she would be ready. It wasn't like she wasn't keeping herself in practice. "I'll watch myself," she grinned. "I always do."
Atrum sounded like he was ready to head out, and she didn't blame him. Atrum was understandably attached to artifacts from his family's past. Kotone might have been if it were Krendall related; less so if it were her biological family - even if she did get along with them these days. "Good luck, Atrum. I'll see if I can figure anything out about this clone of yours on my end, alright?" She chuckled. "And yeah, we'll do it again I'm sure. It's tradition by now." She stuffed her hands in her jackets as she stepped aside for Atrum to leave. She'd come to relax and had done the opposite, but she didn't really regret it. It was good to know Atrum was about two hundred percent less dead than she'd been led to believe.
The giant gave Kotone a smile as she responded, she had gotten older but she acted essentially the same to him, He gave a satisfied sigh as she left and he gave her a farewell nod. He had to leave after all, he was on a mission to get his hat back and he needed to get on that. The giant took his things and his partner as he headed out towards his original destination, the little one taking her nose to the scent where they left off. Right this was going to be difficult, they were chasing rumors and hearsay, but they did decide to go this path and at least they were walking it together right? Atrum and his Vargr, remnants of the Culture of the Northlands forging their way in a new country, it'd almost be poetic if Atrum wasn't seriously infuriated by half the events that have occurred since his return.
"Back to the Hunt. I will find my prey, Because he has my Blazing Hat!"
