Feye had two reactions to the clothes stealing line - partially because of how awkwardly Akatsuki transitioned the conversation away from it. The ebon-haired girl laughed, but she also blushed at the very idea of having her clothes stolen in front of anyone - even if she knew it had been too instantaneous for it to matter. The end product ended up sounding a lot more nervous than she meant for it to. In the end, she let out a small cough, raising a closed fist to her mouth to stifle it before taking her clothes and placing them in her bag quickly.
"Um, yeah, we can go find food, Suki," she nodded. She knew what Suki meant, but it was just her nickname for him. Nicknames were as fun for her as her mother - hers were just... respectful, and usually had something to do with the person's name. "Thoooough..." she blushed and looked away. "In a dress this pretty people might get the wrong idea..."

Akatsuki thought about her suggestion and shrugged. It didn't matter to him whether or not someone got the wrong idea. He wasn't going to get food with them, he was going with his friend. "Whatever conclusions people draw on their own is completely on them, I'm not going to dinner with them, I'm going with you." He said matter-of-factly. It was, in fact, the truth. Besides it wasn't exactly like they hadn't been seen in public before. Worst case scenario her father would find out they were hanging out. He did consider that she was well dressed and he wasn't. A quick flash of electricity and he was covered in a black formal robe with a hayori trimmed in silver. His grandfather had given it to him a long time ago and he had only recently gotten old enough to fill it out.
With his new adornments he felt pretty confident that they were a fairly dressed match, plus he liked the black and blue combination. "Come on it'll be fun! Worst case scenario your father finds out in which case we can cross that bridge when we get there." He expounded with a shrug. Besides, from what his own father had told him it wasn't like either of them had to fear some sort of violent reprisal. "What reminds me, your mom knows right?" He asked, wondering how she had kep tit secret this long.
Even if Feye's dad found out, she seriously doubted that Kade would outright stop her. Her mother firmly believed that family itself meant nothing more than you made it mean, and while she had taken great pains to make it mean something in her life once she had one, she also knew that meant that one family member couldn't be judged by the others. She'd told Feye as much, and Feye figured her father either held the belief or respected it, himself, considering how famously the two got along. "Of course she knows..." Feye insisted. "Maybe not the specifics... but Eri doesn't give her those either..."
Her sister was less of an absolute 'angel' than Feye was. Then again, that wasn't hard. There were probably very few children who had misbehaved less (on purpose anyway) than Feye, and her reputation."Erm, okay, though... is it going to be somewhere fancy? Cause... I know our families have money and all, but... I kinda... don't..."

He thought about it carefully, but he hadn't really come to a decision about where to eat. "Well I'm sure I can field all of it. I know my family has money, but I don't have access to it. I do get a stipend now that my father is insisting I go on my Musha Shugyo... which brings me to my next point. I'm going to be leaving town soon. I'm honestly not sure where to go but after tonight I'll have any money or protection from my family soooooooo unless you're family does something similar so we won't be able to hang out for a little while. It's meant to be a surprise when you're to leave, but I didn't know it was going to be this year." He explained. He was sure he had mentioned that it would be coming up eventually, though he couldn't remember how old he was when that might have come up.
The Musha Shugyo was his warrior pilgrimage, it was something his father had done unofficially, his older brother had completed, and his younger brother was going to be doing soon. By age fifteen at the earliest, the members of the Kiryu family were expected to go on a pilgrimage as bodyguards, mercenaries, wandering swords, guards, protectors, or to find mastery of another magic all on their own and were not allowed to use magic cars, horses, or other modes of transport besides the occasional boat in order to complete it. There was purpose behind it and great meaning, but he knew of no other family who did something similar. "We can go wherever you want, my treat." He finished with a smile.
"You're going? For how long?" Feye suddenly looked worried for Akatsuki. She worried about her friends, and he'd be, well... he technically wouldn't have to be out of touch. She did have his information to contact him, but he'd be further away, and Feye wouldn't be around if he needed support of some kind. "I mean, er... I don't really know what a mushy shugyo is..." she admitted.
"Um... I like Eastern food a lot..." she decided. "I don't know all the best places to go though. I was kind of hoping you had something in mind..." Truthfully she just wanted him to pick, though she worded it differently. If he was the one leaving and he was the one paying, he deserved to at least pick his favorite place to go to.
"Maaaaybe they'll think we *are* on a date and they'll give us something special..." she chuckled again. Feye didn't look at any of her several friends as dating material whether they were or not, so she could joke about it easily. "I heard a few fancy places around here have been doing that to try and promote the business." Dates tended to spend a lot of money, according to a few magazines she'd been into.

Akatsuki shrugged. He could have sword he had spoken to her about this before. "Musha Shugyo. It's a warrior's pilgrimage. Basically I'm supposed to go around learning to master my own techniques, learn new magics, new fighting styles, new things in general. I'm supposed to be gone until I feel like I've become a master in my own right and am ready to take the S rank exam. It's supposed to be some sacred journey or something, but my dad apparently got two girls pregnant during his and my older brother spent all of the money to start his journey on alcohol so I think there's more to it than just getting stronger." He explained, fully aware of how tedious it was still going to be and that both of the aforementioned two had still managed to gain the strength that they were looking for despite their mistakes.
He spoke in length about that part of his situation in order to keep from blushing too much. He hadn't ever looked at Feye as dating material, but even he had to admit that it was awfully date-esque. "I'm sure... maybe we should show up in a carriage or something if we're going that route." He joked, his hand nervously darting to the back of his head to scratch in a gesture that only made the fact that he was nervous blatantly obvious. "Eastern food sounds great, let's head there."
The girl's eyes widened. She did remember being told this now. It had been a long while and she'd apparently forgotten the term. "Right! That Mushy Shugyo!" she nodded. His father certainly had a legacy, and one that while Feye didn't judge his character for, especially after this long, it did make her uncomfortable to think about. Feye was a pretty sheltered girl, though more by her own choice than her mother's. She was far more likely to read something than to get out and talk to actual people and learn all about the way the world worked.
"Weeeeell I wish you luck, Suki," she told him cheerfully. "Just um... you know... try not to be your dad or brother okay? I like you better than them," she wasn't kidding, though the way she said it was far more light-hearted than it might have sounded if she wasn't trying overly hard to be cheery about her friend leaving soon.
She did giggle at the idea of the carriage, though she just shook her head. "I've still got my sneakers on," she reminded him. "We can walk. I hear those are considered romantic for some reason." She didn't quite understand considering she walked around all the time. Maybe with the right boy. She did start walking towards the food area in town, though, striding casually next to Akatsuki.

It was a difficult path being a part of his family, but it didn't sound like it was all bad. "Don't worry, I don't plan on it, though from the sounds of it neither did they. Besides, when I come back I'll be twice as strong as I am now and I can help protect everybody." He said proudly. Though he did look at her outfit and she was in fact wearing sneakers. It was unfortunate that he didn't have anything in his treasury that would match... or that was for women. "Thanks for the good luck wishes though. And besides it's going to be a long walk to where we're going. So does your family have any weird traditions?" He asked. He didn't really know much about her family other than that his dad and her mom had a history of damaging large areas of land when they sparred for fun, and that her father and his father didn't get along. He'd asked questions before, but he didn't want to push, now was a good time to be a little bit pushy. Although he was curious to see if her parents had a different telling of the series of events that led to their current status of 'feuding' as his older brother called it.
"Strength doesn't mean a lot if you aren't responsible," Feye lectured lightly. She really hoped he didn't get into trouble. Feye wasn't a troublemaker, and didn't particularly like other people getting into trouble either. It was always so much... trouble. "I think being really strong is more than magical power. It's also having a strong character, you know?" she felt like her mother at the moment, but Akatsuki was her friend and she didn't want him to come back changed in a way where he wouldn't be as pleasant to be around.
"Erm, as for my family..." Feye thought for a moment. She knew her family wasn't normal. Her parents were both powerful dragon slayers after all. Both famous and influential in their own fields. Feye herself was kind of famous to those who were into the magical world, if only because she was Kotone's child. "I dunno..." she shrugged. "We visited Celtor and Krendall once... but that's not really a tradition... I think that Mom got less weird as time went by. Most people want to break away from normal and do strange things for fun. But Mom was always different and wanted what normal people had..."

Akatsuki smirked he agreed with her philosophy, but magical strength was still integral to being able ot protect people. A mouse couldn't fend off a lion no matter how hard it tried, but the rest was implicit. "That goes without saying, magical strength without strength of character just makes you part of the problem." He said with a smile. "Well that sounds a lot more pleasant than ours. We met dragons but dad also had us fight them for training purposes and then we were left there to talk with them. He doesn't talk much about the dragon that raised him though and has only mentioned her name a handful of times." He said with a shrug.
After walking for long enough they finally reached the restaurant and after being seated they were given menus. Everything was reasonably priced, but there were some expensive dishes. "Order whatever you want. If it's going to be our last meal together for a while I want it to be memorable." The sentiment was given, but he was happy to share the last bit of his time in Magnolia with his best friend, his brothers would have just taken it for granted, but he viewed this for what it was, there was a chance he could die, or maybe just find someplace he would rather settle down.
"Why would you fight dragons?" Feye asked, tilting her head. "I mean, they aren't anything like human opponents, and it's like trying to fight a wall that can hit back..." or at least she imagined it might be like that. Feye honestly had never even considered fighting a dragon. Her own meeting had been intimidating but entirely peaceful. She'd taken a liking to Celtor, though its entirely possible that it was a one-way connection. Krendall... well she could see why her mother claimed she used to have issues with parents.
Feye sat down once they were at the restaurant, brushing her hair out of her face. it was so weird to be wearing this dress. It was beautiful... but maybe too beautiful. She glanced around, paranoid people were looking at her. She didn't like being stared at! "Um..." she tilted her head, looking at the menu. The expensive stuff sounded good... but she wasn't going to do that to Akatsuki no matter what he said. "Um... I just want the chicken..." she decided quietly, hoping he would order for her. She was starting to clam up a bit thanks to being around so many unfamiliar people. She wasn't unhappy; it was her natural reaction.

Akatsuki sighed and slid his finger along the menu. "I'll have the turf and turf with steak and chicken and she'll have the chicken ala arabiarta." He told the waitress. He knew she was trying not to get anything expensive but he didn't mind it. The fact remained that she was still a bit timid, though she had a little difficulty understanding his family's weird traditions. "And we fight dragons to learn how to push ourselves past general human limits. Fighting can sometimes be used to make friends just as easily as it can be used to defeat enemies. In this case we learned how to commune with spirits from the dragons. It may not be dragon slayer magic but when you can talk to spirit kings it's close. Besides, walls that can hit back are the best opponents if you want to learn something special... like... you know... how to dodge a wall." He explained with a chuckle.
It was odd talking about dragons and experiences with them so carelessly. It was almost like an everyday event for them, but most others would probably view it as something of a novel experience. "It's not too late if you wanted to learn another magic. My little brother uses kekkai and Fuuin magic, you'd probably excel at that." He offered.
"Heeey wasn't that one of the more expensive chicken dishes?" Feye blushed as she tried to remember the prices on the menu. He'd been exactly right that she was trying to to spend his money, and her shyness had totally blown it, apparently. She had a slight frown on her face, though she wasn't upset enough to actually be mad at either him or herself.
Akatsuki told him how he fought the dragons to learn things, but Feye just didn't like the idea. She didn't like fighting people and dragons were... well they were so much more than sparring partners and such. They were majestic and mysterious and noble and sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always scary. "I guess..." she shrugged at his speech. "I guess Mamma just got me to see things differently."
"And I don't need another magic yet. I mean, maybe, it's just I really want to master what I am learning, and... I know what people who see me do stuff say, but I don't think I'm good enough and I want to be even better like my parents. I guess I must have some talent, but I'm nothing compared to them... they're dragon slayers after all..."

Akatsuki listened. He knew that she wouldn't understand and that it would be extremely difficult to get her to see how one could understand someone much more effectively and in much more specific ways than from simply talking to them. It wasn't a concept that one typically ever understood without having first experienced the phenomenon. "Yes, it's an expensive chicken dish. I'm heading out, might as well enjoy the meal while I have money." He said, shrugging. "I don't expect you to understand the friendship and understanding or the connection you can obtain to someone from combat. The experience can be something amazing, but only if both parties are truly approaching it with the right mindset. Besides, my siblings and I got along with each other this way." He explained. The inherent problem with communicating one's emotions through combat was that one also clashed against another person's beliefs with the same tool. Nevertheless, he wanted to share his own feelings about the subject.
On the subject of Feye's mastery of her own magic he could understand wanting to master her own magic as it stood. "Everyone just kind of has to figure out their own way. I think that magic just kind of has to be part of you and once you learn to speak to it you can kind of..." He trailed off as he tried to find the right word for it.
Feye supposed she'd never understand the boys and their love of bonding through their fists. Okay, boys was inaccurate. She knew her mother was to a degree similar, but she didn't really understand her mom that well either. They tended to clash in a way that ended with Kotone getting frustrated with Feye and Feye crying, then her mom feeling bad. All because they spoke a different language when it came to magic and fighting.
"Speak to magic?" Feye tilted her head. Feye understood feeling magic and it being part of who she was; her light magic was as much a part of her as her hair or eyes, and she adored it, in no small part because her father had taught it to her. Despite her friendship with Akatsuki she was very much a daddy's girl because their personalities were closer. "Um... you mean like, you can control it in ways you didn't know you could before or something?"
