Kenshiro generally dances the line between regal and casual wear. While nowhere near as well dressed as his father would prefer. Often times his clothes are in tones of dark black and blue (the colors of his family’s house) and sometimes forsakes or minimalizes the blue. In terms of celebrity he isn’t extraordinarily well known, and prefers the blacks and minimal blue in order to protect his identity as a noble. Other trademark cloths and accessories include the pocket watch he wears with his family crest on it, his twin hooks (worn on the back in an “X” shape high up, one of three weapons common to the Kiryu family), and the broken handcuff he wears on his right wrist (A symbol of the family’s rise from slavery to nobility).
personality
Kenshiro is noble, well spoken, honorable, and generally compassionate. Despite all of those qualities he has few qualms about blackmailing, fast talking, or other roguish behaviors in the name of accomplishing a higher goal. His threats are subtle, his words are well chosen and he speaks almost as if he’s from another time period sometimes. Regardless of the circumstances he will go out of his way to protect his friends and family, though he has been known to let emotion cloud his judgement since the man he found out was his older brother was killed by the leader of a dark guild. Since then he has searched for answers, and started to create a network of contacts in Fiore, a process he finds abhorrent due to the amount of shady activities (blackmail, extortion, and espionage) required to form that network, and while not above killing in the name of whatever cause, he tries to ensure that the people he deals with all live. Beyond the aforementioned, Kenshiro’s personality tends to vary depending on his emotional state. At the age of 14, he’s not exactly a bastion of emotional control and often tends to find his hormones leading him to the wrong conclusions or actions.
history
Originally abandoned by his mother just as his brother Tatsuma was, Kenshiro spent his younger years trying to sort out what he needed to do. He was raised with a poor family and spent many of his informative years learning basic woods and survival skills as well as farming, thatching, and general trade skills.
At the age of 4 his family told him about his mother, but not his father. He was given this information shortly before his mother showed back up to port, reclaiming her son and beginning his lessons on sailing, piracy, and naval strategy. It was during this time that she saw how intelligent he was. He quickly and aptly picked up on the more mentally challenging tasks, but his physical capabilities weren’t quite as good as she would have hoped.
After only 3 years, his mother dropped him off at the Kiryu estate while she spoke to a man with while hair a blue overcoat. The only thing he remembered of the exchange was that they were arguing with each other in loud angry voices before she stormed off, leaving Kenshiro to be raised with his father and step mother. From that day forward, he took the family name and began learning to be part of Valland nobility.
Growing up in the Kiryu house, Kenshiro came to realize that being a noble was as mentally exhausting and being a sailor was physically exhausting. He was given the best schooling, etiquette training, social engineering lessons, magic and lacrima training, weapons and combat training in the Kiryu family’s associated weapons, unarmed combat training in the Kiryu family’s forms tactics and methodology, as well as countless other lessons in comparatively rudimentary subjects such as music lessons, mathematics, writing, poetry, and rhetoric.
One thing that his schooling repeatedly failed to do was teach him anything related to the usage of magic. He could not focus enough to learn what the hell they were talking about and quickly grew bored of every type of magic they could offer, while remaining interested in every magic they offered. The learning of these elements was just so tedious that he couldn’t suffer it. As such his father required that he master physical arts as well as social engineering and espionage tactics. In keeping with this order, Kenshiro’s father repeatedly took him out for rigorous missions, and it was during one of these missions that Kenshiro discovered his power. After watching a prolonged battle between his father and another mage, 12 year old Ken copied one of the spells his father had been trying to use and surprised his father’s opponent with the very same spell.
At the age of 14, Ken has mastered his own method of casting and copied spells from his father and step mother, and is ready to set out on his own in search of the brother he only found out about after the televised broadcast of the fight that resulted in his death.
Over the course of the last four years Kenshiro copied spells from his brother, Fairy Tail Guild members, Lamia Scale guild members, Blue Pegasus Guild members, the shadow Lord, Nobu (Shadow Hearts' Ace), and from various mages that he has encountered. In addition, during the dragon incident with Nox he managed to copy some dragon magic spells although they're costly.

His first few spells have been copied from his mother and father, he comes to Fiore in hopes of learning more.
