P.L.A.T.E. or Principalitus Limitus Aetheric Theoretical Engineering - Gadgets’n’Gizmos
Using his advanced knowledge of how magic and Aether works, Mooch has created Machines that do things for him. Ranging from mundane things that people don't understand (Such as black powder powered guns), to magical devices capable of piercing the thickest form of armor humanity has developed through the rapid acceleration of magical particles surrounding a inanimate object. These are normally done on the fly through a mix match of parts he carries on him all the time, using his Aetheric wavelengths which are attuned to them to function like magnets allowing him to essentially be a "Technopath". Or someone who can control technology with his mind. Few are permanent like his large selection of handguns kept inside his coat at all times.
He has a near infinite selection of parts due to the fact he is capable of creating devices capable of "Requip" like pocket space holding, and tends to hold finished inventions within such a space for quick use incase needed.
Name: Automatic Assembly.
Element: Unaligned.
Description: With a quick manipulation of the Aether around him, he is capable of building a throw away device capable of a single elemental effect, with absolutely no use of his hands. This allows him to keep up the tempo in a fight with someone with a lot more potent magic than what he has (Almost None.)
Name: Athibar Element: Unaligned. Description: With a quick motion from his hand Mooch can recall any device, tool, invention, gadget, gizmo, or thing back to him as if he were a requip mage. This can be used in two ways, one is the object vanishes to reappear in his hand, and the other is to fly back at him. Allowing him to catch it.
Name: N.A.E.D. (Neuro, Assembly, Express, Device) Element: None. Description: Pulling a small metal device from somewhere on his person resembling a metallic oval with a well made leather grip and a pin at its top, when thrown this device attaches to the surface it strikes and unfolds into a self sustaining construction device. Capable of making whatever Mooch wanted it too before hand. The Station then creates the object Mooch desired and projects it in a contained hovering field above it. These things can only make one thing before being useless and upon claiming the object created self-immolate and burn into ash.
Ar-Sol MK II Project. The effect of the Ar-Sol MKII Project was to remove Mooch's ability to use his natural magic. Effectively by removing his Magic Circuits, and essentially removing his capability to use any magic at all. However due to the use of implants to take up the now remaining space Mooch has increased reflexes, speed, and durability naturally.
However when provided with the sister exoskeletal suit his combat capability ramps up to scary levels, as his Reflexes, speed, and durability are heightened again, as well as provided with enhanced strength. This also allows him to regain access to his original magic for a short period of time, in small bursts as his body can no longer handle it naturally.
An interesting relationship - Spiritual bond - Mooch/Ku.
Description: While Mooch is intelligent, several things in his life have made him feel hopeless and stupid. One of these things was the events that immediately followed the fall of Valland. He was left to die, in the middle of the rubble of the city, with mortal wounds to his frail frame, having lost something precious he didn't care anymore. It was there he met Ku, a strange talking fox with an offer he couldn't refuse. So he didn't. Since then Mooch has been taking care of the fox, or the fox has been taking care of him, either way it works out in the end. Mooch doesn't know if Ku is male or female, in fact not much is known about the entity other than it's clearly a magical creature that just looks like a fox.
So far Ku has not expressed their gender, nor has been attributed any Magical potential besides the capability to appear as a fox and speak. However its life is bound to Mooch's whatever that means.
Equipment. Mooch has little things that he keeps on himself that are permanently used, however they are few and far between, as the things he decides are important enough to him to keep around forever are those that are the most potent.
Name: The Coat. Description: The purple coat is surprisingly actually a piece of heavily modified equipment, and is probably Mooch's most treasured belonging. To the point where the only time he would ever take it off, means he trusts those around him irrevocably. The jacket itself is a bright purple color, the upper layer being denim bearing gold buttons and several pockets. The underlayer is a cloth "Hoodie" bearing a hood rimmed with fur to keep him warm in cold conditions. Incorporated is an Aetheric weave of enchantments and a complex weave of materials, ranging from cloth, to metal, to Stone wheat that allow it to be fireproof, waterproof, windproof, coldproof, sealed, Unable to be cut by normal means, self-cleaning, lessen damage taken like armor, unable to be forcibly removed via the reproduction of duplicate magicless versions of itself when attempted to be torn off him, its pockets appear empty when rummaged through in an attempt to pickpocket him, and seemingly can produce an infinite supply of mediocre items from its pockets or sleeves.
On the inside of the bright purple Jacket are several belts which have holsters in them, allowing him to hold his twin handguns, and seven other normal Lacrima based Firearms of his selection. Also in one of the pouches within the coat is a small device that functions like a personal teleporter allowing him to blink from one location to another using magic from the surrounding area. He can only move about 10 feet in any direction, and it stores 3 charges for use, and has a charge time of 1 hour.
Name: The Goggles Description: These orange lensed Goggles are normally found on Mooch's forehead when he's doing stuff. They bare rectangular frames, with soft purple fuzzy plush lining the outside, and soft pads on the inside. Though they have many effects ranging from the capability to see the bone structure and metal through walls, night vision, thermal, and filter sunlight like sunglasses. He expresses that none of its extensive list of features are truly "The reason" for the goggles.
Name: Gae-Bás Description: Gae-Bás is one of Mooch's twin handguns, crafted personally by himself for the specific use of self defense. Instead of normal Lacrima gun design this gun has a revolving cylinder that rotates when the gun is aimed at an individual rather than when the trigger is pulled. The reason for this is because the gun fire's the opposing element of the target's magic, so if its aimed at a fire mage the magic projectile is water based, or if fighting a dark mage, light based.
It like its twin has a secondary more powerful firing function that when used fires a concentrated beam of Aether designed to pierce a target's defenses completely, however this feature can only be used once every 12 hours.
Name: Gae-Ibar Description: The second of the twin's Mooch created for his own possession. While Bas uses Lacrima for its effects like most modern day guns do, Lug does not. Instead the cylinder on this firearm ever revolves unlike its twin, and uses what appears to be solid rounds fired from a directed explosion. These rounds are all enchanted to re-direct magic away from them like mirrors would light, at the cost of the round itself. Upon contact with a spell the spells effect ricochets away from where the impact was, redirecting its angle like light would.
It like its twin has a secondary more powerful firing function that when used fires a concentrated beam of Aether designed to pierce a target's defenses completely, however this feature can only be used once every 12 hours.
Name: Gae-Lug Description: A beautifully crafted pure white lever action sawn off rifle, created by Mooch to complete his trifecta of weapons. The shorter barrel allows it to be used quickly and more effectively in short ranged scuffles, that fact combined with the fact Mooch wields it like a close combat and melee weapon makes it less useful for long ranged combat. It's delicately engraved white barrel is bladed at the top and bottom allowing it to be used as a bladed weapon however preventing it from being aimed like a conventional rifle. It's ammo load is an impressive cocktail of Aether, metal, and light based magic. Firing as a puncturing round followed by a beam of light magic. It is easily his most powerful tool.
An Encyclopedia of Trick-Shots Numbering from 0 to 199. (WIP) Explanation: Always a fundamental in Mooch's insane, unpredictable, paranoid fighting style are things he labels Trick Shots. These are a combination of his actual skills as a weapon user (As not all Trick-shots use ranged weapons), Aetheric Energy generator via his extensive bodily modifications to himself, Lacrima inserted into the weapons the skills are preformed with, his extensive military training within the Vallish Infantry, Engineering, Special Forces, and Royal Guard, Divisions. As such they could be considered a separate type of "Magic" themselves to anyone who saw them without knowing how they were actually more of an extensive style of combat evolved over the course of the 21 year old prodigies life.
Single Target Tricks. Trickshot #11 Chess. Element: Weapon Based. Description: This shot is one of Mooch's most used in single target situations, taking advantage of chess' greatest implementation into the strategic world, thinking multiple steps ahead of your opponent. This shot specifically revolves around shooting so accurately close to your target that you cause burn, and contact wounds, but do not hit them. The point is to cause them to move to a more targetable location. As such the damage inflicted to the target is minimal, but the target never remains the same as the point of this maneuver is to move with the target, associating with a target that may not move to a more favorable location would end up with the target getting multiple rounds into their body, and possibly die from a piss poor use of this skill.
Trickshot # 12 Castling. Element: Weapon Based. Description: Stylized after the same named advanced maneuver within the game Chess. The point of this trick is to continue the onslaught of #11, except from a different angle, forcing the target to continue to move towards the users desired point. Using advanced Aetheric manipulation of his gear, Mooch throws his weapon towards the target (If its a firearm it continuing to fire, only in their direction, when it rotates towards them), allowing it to keep the pressure from around corners, or even past the target. Again while not meant to directly kill the target, is still entirely possible if the target does not move.
Trickshot #13 Cross-Castle. Element: None. Description: Capitalizing on the enemies movements and his previously cast #12 shot, Mooch uses his ingenious teleportation device to warp to where his thrown weapon is allowing him to catch it nimbly, before choosing what to do next, possibly cast another one, return to where he was before, or to use where he is now as if he had the highground.
Trickshot # 14 Check. Element: Weapon Based. Description: Mooch's version of a potentially lethal warning shot. Using his weapon to go for the target's face, directed at eye level. If the target is not moving the attack misses, but barely, striking the point in front of the target's face so they may witness the attack. If the target is moving at the same speed and direction throughout the previous fight, the attack would be centered on their head, potentially between the eyes. Designed to either have the target turn in a different direction or cause them to stop.
