Astoria quite remarkably resembles her royal mother and the other ladies of the di'Fernis dynasty of Cornelia. She is slender of build with fair skin which belies much time spent indoors. Her blonde hair falls to about the shoulder blades in the back with side locks and angled bangs completing a feminine face in the front. For battle she wears plate armor which covers her torso, arms and legs with a beige skirt bearing crosses periodically at its hem. There are white flowers in her hair which are part of the royal symbology of Cornelia. Out of battle she loses the armor, leaving her with thigh-high brown lace up boots, the same skirt with a minimal white petticoat under it, and a white blouse with a tan vest over it.
personality
Princess Astoria di'Fernis' personality is anything but regal. She's hardly the calm, demure woman the Queen of Cornelia is. Rather she is very proud and stubborn when confronted with challenges, commonly refusing to back down no matter how wrong her opinion is proven to be. Though she is often perfectly reasonable and unquestionably brave, she tends to overlook smaller details in favor of taking more direct action. Astoria does not carry herself like a woman at all, really, which is due to the fact that the real princess switched bodies with a famous Cornelian knight named Tancred Ironheart.
Needless to say, the knight is horribly confused by the new predicament and sometimes forgets he is now a she. Not really sure how a girl is supposed to act, typical behavior is more similar to how Sir Tancred would act. Despite how defensive the new princess can get about things, she is actually quite sweet and is concerned with the well being of the less fortunate. She is a steadfast ally to friends, though she's yet to really make any, and gives her all for whatever cause she's taken up. However she still thinks girls have a certain place in this world, which makes being one herself really confounding.
history
Cornelia is a small kingdom far from Fiore known mostly for the beauty of its royal ladies and the gallantry of an order of knights calling the land home. Said knights have taken an oath to the goddess Selphiel, whose domain is said to be that of light and creation. Sir Tancred Ironheart was one of their number, given up to the goddess' service by his family and raised by other knights. Every day was full of learning either religious teachings, combat training, conditioning or magic lessons. At 15 he went on his first mission with other knights, battling monstrous creatures that had been terrorizing peasants. Over the years his reputation and ability grew, and by 30 he was arguably the most famous knight in the kingdom.
Princess Astoria had always had a weak constitution and rarely set foot outside the palace without some kind of escort. Her face was well known in Cornelia as it graced coinage along with her mother, father and sister's faces (each a different denomination and coin). She was quiet and kept to herself most often, seeing a private tutor for her education. Then one night everything changed. Tancred woke up to find himself in a pink room.. and a girl. Some unknown force had switched him into Astoria's body, and despite diligent searches his own body was nowhere to be found. Ashamed at the turn of events and believing it to be a curse, the new princess fled Cornelia rather than bring shame to the royal family as well. Since then she's been adventuring, trying to find an answer to the strange circumstances she awoke to but with little luck so far.
Primary Magic
Name: Sword of Light Description: One of the types of magic which the Knights of Selphiel are famous for and which Sir Tancred had become adept at. It focuses light energy into a blade which can then be used to great efficiency. In its basic form it can cut through things which a metal blade could not, as well as being effective against creatures of shadow.
Signature Ability
Name: Blade of the Blessed Lady Element: Light Description: As an added trait, Astoria can use her light blade to store the magic of a fellow wizard and have it amplify her basic sword. With enough focus (taxing on her constitution) she can deflect enemy magic as well.
