Quite often Marion is mistaken for a boy, owing to a number of factors. It's odd considering that she's not all that tall, has a slender girlish build and feminine face. However she commonly wears her long black hair in a low ponytail with a few stray hairs and strands escaping to give her an unkempt appearance. On the road her clothes tend to be unisex or masculine, including loose fitting trousers tucked into boots, a long coat and long sleeved shirts. In battle, she can use her magic to transform into her true form - that of a maid uniform complete with headdress and apron.
personality
Marion could be accurately described as uncertain yet determined about who she is in this world. Since she desires to be truly tough and heroic she's incredibly determined to prove herself to others. It doesn't help that she tends to be pretty soft spoken despite this determination and doesn't like stepping on others' feet. As such she often backs down from verbal confrontations meekly. Big and tough as she wishes to be she's more comfortable when people around her are in agreement and happy, even if her own desires must be cast away to do so. She has a big heart which cares about others far more than herself, which can result in her throwing herself in the path of unnecessary danger. Furthermore she's stubborn about her friends remaining happy, to the extent that she will discard her usual timid nature in their defense. At these times her family heritage comes out, fiery eyes, battle aura and all. The rest of the time she's a quiet, sweet girl who just works really hard at balancing her wishes with pleasing people.
history
Marion Mikazuki is the third child of a family which is fairly well known for their adventuring exploits. Natives of Fiore, they have achieved a reputation as tough-as-nails warriors who never back down from a challenge regardless of the insanity of its undertaking. For the ancestors there are stories of seemingly impossible feats being accomplished with just an ice pick or the like. In her immediate family Marion has parents and both an older brother and sister, who are all of the same mold. Tall, statuesque, tough looking sorts who can intimidate a room at the drop of a hat. The kind of people that could go to Hell for a weekend, beat up demonic hordes for fun and return with a mild suntan if they were so inclined. At least, that's how others see them.
Contrary to their example and heritage Marion is fairly small, delicate in appearance and soft spoken. A family legend foretold that something like that might happen. Supposedly once every fourth generation, there is a girl born who is not a born warrior but instead a fragile girl who resembles a fairy tale princess: the Mikazuki Maiden. Despite the pleasant sound of it, such words are insulting to the ladies of the Mikazuki family, and Marion grew up feeling as if she were a failure from the start. She always tried to learn techniques to be tough, but backed down from fights when confronted.
Eventually she did learn a technique to use in adventuring, thanks to attentive family members. Even though the 'curse' had visited them, they still tried to raise her right. However she felt as if she was just dragging them down with her, so one day she announced she was going on a journey by herself. Supposedly it was to build character and prove herself to be tough. What she's ended up doing is lying about her age and working a bunch of temp jobs while trying to figure out how to prove she's tough.
Primary Magic
Name: Requip Description: For all intents and purposes this allows Marion to summon one item while dismissing another. It is quite versatile and allows her to exchange a broom for a polearm, her usual clothes for a maid's uniform which is made of tough material. She tends to use it so that her weaponry doesn't have to be carried around all of the time. Combined with her actual skill with said weaponry she can be somewhat dangerous given the chance. Also, helpful!
Signature Ability
Name: "This is my broomstick!" Element: None Description: Using this ability is an extension of Marion's normal requip magic, but here it's being used to summon her weapon of choice. What appears to be a normal ordinary broom.. but has been converted into a magical firearm. It is, effectively, a high-powered gun which fires off a scatter shot and is most efficient at close range.
