Now an adult, Tatsuma stands as a well carved, well trained, example of what one might think of as a dragon slayer. His muscles are toned, his hair is white and stands up as long as he has mana, and he carried one legendary weapons from the underworld, his attire typically remains black but changes from day to day based on his mood.
personality
Tatsuma has learned a number of behaviors from Rhidran, his dragon parent. Like her he has a very bad temper at times, and like her he has learned to contain himself until the loss of his temper will allow him to somehow achieve something, though he fails at making this distinction from time to time. He also learned his love of storms and high places from her and is at his utmost level of elation when he is experiencing these two things.
In addition his general mannerisms tend toward the sarcastic and "devil may care" in that he jokes during serious situations to make them easier to swallow, though most people don't understand that, which can make it difficult for him to make friends. In addition he also has no aversion to being violent when the need arises.
He's also learned to dislike certain things that his parent tends to embody. He doesn't believe that power is the only method to change the world. The two of them had many debates about this and in the end Tatsuma lost every time as far as determinately winning these debates, though it didn't deter his actual thoughts about the subject.
Despite all of the debates he agrees with Rhidran over power and its place in the world, they agreed on the fact that it was meaningless without knowing how to apply it. Thanks to that outlook he has gotten pretty creative about the use of his spells and has become a fairly creative individual, though he seems to have trouble remembering complex pieces of information easily. He has trouble with most puzzles, and often finds ways out of study sessions with guild mates and the like.
Although he has short comings concerning puzzles, it doesn't slow him down. Tatsuma loves getting right into the thick of things and solving them with his bare hands to the best of his abilities. He also tends to prefer to be in motion, and has a love/hate relationship with vehicles because while they are in motion, usually faster than he can move, he, himself is not moving. If he can't stick his head out the window he will often move around from seat to seat or do random exercise on trains and the like which will often leave him exhausted if he happens to be on long trips.

history
Tatsuma used to drink in the wisdom from debating with his mother. It was only his mother in the sense that she had raised him from as far back as he could remember. They would get to the point of her breathing off lightning in frustration of what she perceived as his ignorance. Still, the debates only made him more steadfast in what he believed. There was no point in having power to change the world when it was never enough. There was always a reason to train, but that didn't mean that power was the only thing worth having. His blood always pumped harder after this debates, but that only fueled the desire to train harder when they were done.
From time to time he tends to think about the old days. He even finds himself dreaming of the time when he was still with Rhidran. She was never exactly a tender parent, and from the time he could walk until the time that she left he was raised to be strong, with the utmost focus on the application of that strength in making sure that he survived. As he thinks about it now, it almost seems as though she was preparing him for her absence. Those days are long gone, from her lessons on the dragon slayer magic principles, to the lightning she used to sometimes give him, or the storms she used to bring so they could eat the lightning from them. Now all that's left is memories and the hope of finding her that seems less and less likely every day.
At first, right after she had left, he just cried. It was the first time he felt helpless, frail, weak, and any number of adjectives that described the feeling of impending doom couldn't phrase just how pathetic he found his situation. It was only when he saw a giant shadow looming over the horizon that he found the strength to move. He rushed, charging headlong over the hill, with no food in in stomach and nothing giving him strength, he rushed/stumbled to try to catch the shadow. To this day it's not clear whether or not it was Rhidran just trying to get him to move or if it was simply a manifestation of his hunger-addled imagination, but he was finally able to come out of the slump he was in. Despite not having seen her, nor being able to verify what it was that he had seen, he found his motivation. No more sitting around, no more crying, no more feeling sorry for himself. Tatsuma finally decided he would search for her. It was his first motivation, his first active desire, and it ignited the spark he needed to charge himself.
He wandered for a year after that point, just looking for a way to survive. The skills his mother had taught him gave him the power to catch food in the harsh environment, but since the only two major forms of life on the mountain were Blizzardverns and Vulcans he was forced to get creative... and unforgiving. When Vulcans would come back with food he would ambush them using hit and run tactics to steal some of their food, though not all of it. When Blizardvern would go to sleep he would come to steal some of their herbs. The magic boost he got from it gave him more strength and allowed him to train. It worked for a little bit, but he couldn't keep it up and eventually he was forced to leave Mount Hakobe.
After leaving the mountains, the first place he ended up in was east forest. It wasn't that it was the first place that he passed through, just the first place that he stayed for any amount of time. It was here that he met the pack of wolves that he adopted... or that adopted him, the details as to who chose to accept whom is a bit sketchy. He first stumbled across them when he had gotten into a bit of a scuffle with forest Vulcan. He would have been in serious trouble if it hadn't been for the pack. All he remembered from the fight was the fur and fangs that came in, striking their way into the flesh of the beast just after it had smashed a fist into his back, sending him flying back with his head hitting the tree. He stood up shakily, but the wolves had held it still. They fought while he charged up, using his dragon roar to cause enough damage to force the monster to run.
When he woke, the wolves were lying around him, with one of them licking his head where he had hit it. From that point forward he was with them and they with him. They taught him how to catch food in the forest, and how to fight with agility and precision. It was because of this that he started trying to make his own fighting style, based on the movements of wolves. At first he could only manage to some wolf-like dodges and some fairly clumsy maneuvers. Thanks to that he deemed the style should be called "Okami No Kusari" or "chains of the wolf". The times were good, but eventually he knew he had to leave.
Six months ago Tatsuma wandered into Magnolia Town. There were sights and sounds he had never experienced before, and fireworks exploding in the sky! It was like they had captured the thunder and it was playing just for him. That was the day he met mages from Fairy Tail. They were rowdy, but they looked like they were having fun. That was also the day he got into his first fight with his first mage. Incidentally he was cocky, believing that Rhidran's training and his harsh lifestyle would give him the edge, but he was beaten, smashed, and fireballed into the ground. It was painful, but the lesson he got from it was exactly what he needed. There were strong mages in this guild.
The mage that he had challenged was the one that brought him to Fairy Tail. He was invited because he had given the fight his all, he had fought to win, taken multiple hits, but he kept coming forward. The tenacity, without the bloodthirsty aura was refreshing and it was an honest fight between mages. He wanted to join because this loss of temper had resulted in something beautiful. He had found a rival, or at least someone to gauge his strength against, and he wanted to see where he could go.
After much training and growth Tatsuma became a prominent member of Fairy Tail, so when it was attacked by Shadow Heart he was the one that hunted down The Shadow Lord and attempted to end his reign. Unfortunately that encounter resulted in Tatsu's death. Despite the fact the young dragon slayer was killed, he was able to fight his way back to the world of the living by traveling through seven of the one thousand hells and cross the bridge of the ebon dragon. Coming back this way, however, split his personality into two distinct parts. His darker half, Mu, constantly tried to get him to take darker paths and routes, but also taught him how to use his void magic that he gained from his time in the underworld, and Mystogan, a personality that was still mostly Tatsuma yet primarily devoid of emotion.
Despite the trouble he had adjusting after he came back, Fairy Tale's guild leader Ranor Taiga, who was the only person made aware of the dragon slayer's resurrection, administered a horrific task that sent him on the darkest journey in the living world he had seen. It was during this journey that he was forced into something of an epiphany when closing a portal to one of the thousand hells. The trial itself earned him his title as an S-Rank mage and bringing him closer to becoming more like the Tatsuma that had died.
It wasn't until Tatsu, going my "Mystogan" at the time, along with many other mages fought the Shadow Lord. This time, at a particularly low part of the battle, Mu and Tatsu battled wills. The dark self attempted to force its way into the position of control it felt it deserved. It was also during this time that Tatsu began to accept that everyone had their own darkness, but that darkness was still a part of the person just as much as the light was. From the experience Tatsuma truly returned to life and became whole again, gaining his memories of his time in the void, and finally mastering Void magic as a whole. He also gained the understanding that it was not just a standard system of casting. Like Ranor Taiga's magic, it was bequeathed from a cardinal beast thought to be myth by most.
After the defeat of the shadow lord (an event from which no one really seems to know who struck the final blow, or even if any one person actually did), Tatsuma moved forward to take on the Title of Saint Wizard, proving that he deserved the status by fighting back the dragon attack that happened about two years ago, helping maintain order within the guild and Fiore, maintaining activity within social circles and helping both Fiore and Valland to maintain both peace and sovereignty.
Primary Magic
Name: Ebon Void Lightning dragon slayer magic Description: Comprised of two magics that, while still distinctly separate, are useable as one complete and devastating force nature. Well rounded, and difficult to counter, it works extremely effectively as a weapon of war, but little else. The one healing spell that's available only works on the caster and is very difficult to use during actual combat, it's difficult to keep allies from being targeted by wide range spells, and the amount of precision required makes mastering it something that not just anyone can do. Still, besides the over all destructive capability, the magic hold the greatest value to Tatsu thanks to the incredible amount of speed he is able to achieve when fighting seriously.
Signature Ability
Name: Obsidian lightning veil Element: Void/Lightning- speed buff Description: Used to place Tatsu in a plane just slightly off of reality while using his lightning magic to buff his speed. The result is a lower rank spell of high utility that allows him to move as a black blur, leaving no trace, or leaving afterimages if chosen.
