"Let's see if I can answer that..." Roxanne tilted her head, thinking as she crossed one leg over the other. "I think there was something about a bunch of light guild vigilantes running in and saving the day once the magic council was gone. And there was some magical explosion and several people disappeared. That probably includes you." She shrugged, looking to Bellua. "I suppose you can answer anything about Sabertooth, hm?" Roxy was a lot more of an expert in her own dark guild, but had no desire to advertise to a guy who had just been at the throat of a dark guild's leader in his own mind. "All three of the old ones are still around though."
"As for the rest of your questions... No not really, and no, there's a lot of people in the world." And when one spent as much time drunk in bars as Roxanne did, faces tended to literally blur together. She might have seen him. He might have looked like drunken vision number 2049.
Bellua wasn't entirely right. Roxanne didn't pay that close of attention to politics and such, so she wasn't too useful in the information she'd given. There was more she could tell, but it might give a few things away. Roxy didn't want to end up fighting this guy. He'd felt like a mountain just as much as he'd looked like one when she'd had to touch him to cauterize his wounds.

"Eh? Oh umm SaberTooth, we're not really that much different than the other light guilds from what I hear, we do jobs to help people out, we don't operate outside the law that much. Errr." Bellua looked back and forth sheepishly for lowering her head and shaking it. "If I'm perfectly honest I only really joined Sabertooth because there were a couple of cool people and it was a convenient way to live as a mage." She shrugged. "I'm not well aquainted with the guild master and other guild members, I do remember the 'theme' of our apparently rivalry with Fairy Tail. Some of the 'tigers' take the rivalry really seriously." She shrugged.
"I think I heard something big happened not too long ago, not really sure about the details, cause I just got here not too long ago myself. So yeah what Roxy said." She perked up, clapping her hands together like she just realized something. "Oh yeah something about Valland invading, I think, and I think there was something about to goverment collasping? There was a lot going on from what I heard, but I didn't really pay much attention. More fun to kinda just go and find trouble when I'm not doing jobs. Recent history isn't really that important to me." She said actually feeling proud she remembered anything at all, she grinned at the giant. "Hoped some of that helped."
Atrum watched as Roxanne gave him what she knew, or part of it at least. Heh the more things changed the more they stayed the same. Still it didn't matter, He didn't need her to give him specifics anyways those little tidbits gave him lead enough. to figure the rest out on his own if nothing else. Still Roxanne's answers were vague at best, he'd need to go to the library, hmm probably need to dig up old connections see which of his friends were still active. Atrum continued eating as he thought about things he'd need information if he was to get back up to speed. He needed Julie Praevenio.
"Thank you, for the help regardless. Still, despite the rumors which I will need to look up later... Sounds like you girls live in an era of relative peace. nice, Safe, unfortunately Boring, and honestly, all the better I'd say. You people do not need some arrogant murderer deciding that he know's what's best for you. Do it all yourselves I say. If your good at lying and stealing instead of fighting or working, then do it. Who cares as long as you do not cause the suffering of others, I sure as hell will not stand in your way. I am not much better myself being a former mercenary." He grumbled angrily finishing off the last of his meal. his rant brought for from the remains of his battle high as it drained away like his food.
Now he wasn't hungry. He was full and tired, he needed his blood to boil, needed to live. He leaned back and growled lowly, before looking up at the two young women who had helped him. "Well I thank you for all your help, but it is only fair that I do something for you. What would you ask of me?" Atrum asked with a kind smile on his face and light hearted tone to his voice. He didn't think things would turn out okay for him in the future, but for right now at least. he could smile and say that he was looking forwards to tomorrow.

((HOW DO I KEEP MISSING WHEN YOU PEOPLE POST?!! You're welcome to kick me in the shin if I'm not paying enough attention )) "Yeah, it's pretty boring..." Roxy admitted, sighing as she chewed on her food. Eras of peace were all well and good, but it was just so... not Roxy's style. She liked a little unpredictability, a little risk. She enjoyed testing herself both in battle and in bars, both against booze and pretty girls. It was just that when all was said and done, the battles were generally friendly competitions since she'd never been caught by the Templars, the booze always won, and even a slap from the maiden she had her eyes on simply meant she moved on and found someone else who caught her attention. The biggest risk she had was alcohol poisoning, and as of yet she hadn't even managed to stomach enough for that before passing out.
Roxy glanced at Bellua. She knew what she wanted to ask the hot blond. This guy though... he still looked too beat up to even ask for some sort of sparring match. She hadn't wanted him to die in front of her, but where she was a fount of knowledge for the time traveler... he offered very little in return. "Well," she decided after a moment. "You could recount the tale of fighting the Shadow Face guy." The way she used his name was most definitely a sign he was a distant memory at best. "Seeing as how I was still stuck at home at the time I didn't exactly have a front row seat. Denial of the fact it's not twenty years ago is pretty standard in that household."
"Boring, peaceful times? Well it's boring for sure, but everything is pretty new here to me so I'm getting by without being bored out of my skull or something like that." She wasn't to, bothered by the issue of a boring day. Mostly because she was happy to wander aimlessly so whatever. "What? You don't mean me as well right? I didn't do anything but tag along I can't ask you anything." She waved her hands back and forth, still she was tempted to ask something of the big guy. Nope, better save that for later, why was he asking to return the favor anyways? He still looked about near death so he should be more worried about resting rather than repaying favors.
"Oh! Actually that sounds like a great idea, your injuries looked like they came from a pretty hardcore battle. Tell us about that." She agreed putting her elbows on the table and getting comfortable. "Since this guy is kinda sorta infamous and apparently a really bad guy, it must've been an awesome fight." She sighed picking at her food slowly, she was really curious as to how that fight went. It was a big one right? She vaguely remembered it being called a operation so she was sure that it would've been a particularly intense event. Though why it seemed like such a far away event was over her head.
"The attack? I guess it is pretty fresh in my mind, though a few details keep phasing in and out..." The gaint paused for a second before leaning back taking a breath. Atrum didn't actually like to talk much, but he had a tendency to talk a lot. This looks like it was going to be one of them. "There were a few remnants of the old council who I was assisting in the civil war, when the Shadow lord became a significant threat they offered their assistance to me..."
(Assualt on Shadow Heart the abridged version, make that extremely abridged) Atrum pressed himself against the wall, an intense glare in his eyes, and an excited almost manic grin on his face. He was so close, he could taste the blood in the air. This was the heart of poison in fiore. The right and proper Guild Hall of Shadow Heart. Well, that wasn't technically true, this was just an entrance. Still another team was hitting another entrance, a typical distraction working in tandem with his hunt and mission. He was wearing his normal clothing plus an armored vest, he had his kanabo as well as several lacrima he had 'charged' in preparation of the mission. Only light armor including his indestructible hat so he could move quickly, it was almost time to go. He couldn't see any guards... The giant will his connection with the Archive mage to life.
'Julie can you give me a thermal reading?' He asked her mentally through their connection a thermal application being uploading to him before he could even finish the request. 'Right thanks do me a favor and use me to scan the area periodically I do not want the small fry ambushing me before I can get to my prize.' He glared at the entrance and made his move...
The Guildhall was impressive even he had to grudgingly admit, defenses were a combination of actual combatants and what appeared to be magical glyphs. He had no real experience dealing with them and so had to have his back up come in disappointingly early. Her Doll magic was rather unsettling but hey having a partner that could keep in constant contact with all your allies as well as being in several places at once? That was highly convenient. Flanked by his stringed companion he made his way deeper into the avoiding as many of the dark guild members as they could to conserve magical power. Occasionally someone would catch sight of them only to grabbed and rendered unconscious by the unfeeling and uncaring mannequin.
The place was huge unnecessarily huge, traversing the place was a nightmare enough. He was certainly glad there was another team infiltrating and distracting ma large portion of the available forces. the place being fully staffed would've been far more annoying than he would've been comfortable with. Still if julie's information as correct and in his experience it always was, the guild master's quarter would be past the.. oh no. they had to move past a meeting hall AND a dungeon? Well as long as no one particularly powerful got in his way things would be fine...
He just had to open his mouth didn't he? This guy, he had no idea what he was, he wasn't the Ace Atrum knew her and she was strangely missing from the guildhall. No this guy was something else, unofficial commander? Shadow magic was a pretty basic power but this guy was old, old and clever. dangerous combination. Especially since shadow heart's guild hall was basically a creepy dungeron with few lights in the first place, the old man had a particular advantage of basically owning the place. The man seemed pretty focus on ending them as quickly as possible. the old man was clever and old and used shadow magic. He was wasting time here, he took out on of his over charged lacrima and gave it a tiny spark before tossing it at the old man. The shadows gobbled it up muffled the explosion, the spells contained in the device being wasted in solid darkness.
"What that it boy? Patheti-" Atrum's kanabo was the typical color of the famed weapon. A steel black that blended in well with the darkness of the area. Catching the old man by surprised and slamming into him. The man couldn't stop it, not enough time probably softened the blow somehow. Still the force and weight of the weapon would knock him out. The man was old and clever, but that easily gave way to arrogance and lazily content behavior. The giant ran and grabbed his weapon pausing only to make sure the old man had passed out before he ran past and slammed his way into the final room.
Somehow they had known they were coming, somehow they knew how they were coming. It didn't matter Atrum thrived in war, in battle. A trap was simply expected, but it was better that you didn't assume anything when you went on a mission. what was the phrase Matt used? "Plans always fall apart upon first contact with the enemy." Crazy guy sounded like his father sometimes.
There were a few choice words shared between the two, the Shadow lord loved the sound of his own voice and Atrum was filled with righteous hatred for the man. As Atrum fought the Shadow lord, other eventually intervened for both sides, shadow heart members and his own back up clashed as each side struggled to take control of the deciding factor of the fight. The Shadow lord's ability to dictate the fight's terms. The giant off loaded as much fire power as possible, his intent to raise the temperature to lethal levels telekinesis couldn't do much against the immaterial. Even if he could it would take a lot of concentration to do so. Atrum overcharged the lacrima in his possession fling flame spells across the entire battleground. The fight completely destroyed the guildhall much of the ground caving in, the explosions clearing the roof away and letting the sky in. Atrum continued like this using as much power to push the shadow lord into a corner the basic idea was to put him on the defensive then beat on it until he found a crack. personally he wanted to catch him unawares and snap his neck but that went out the window as soon as they were forced to go loud.
Atrum continued to rage against the man's defenses watching as his attacks were moved slightly away from their target, Atrum grabbed his Kanabo hoping that with the Shadow lords strained focus he wouldn't be able to block his weapon's weight. Blow after blow missing by a foot, and inch, centimeter, direct hit! Atrum felt a satisfying smack as his Kanabo hit home on the Shadow lords mask and heard it crack. Wait no, something was wrong. The Giant felt his Kanabo crack then shatter just like the mask. His favored weapon, a all but indestructible testament to human weapon crafting shattered into the wind by focused telekinesis. All of it focused onto the weakest part of the weapon for a single instant destroying it forever.
Atrum couldn't stop just because he lost his weapon he was going to kill this man, that was already decided. Atrum only had two of his over charged larcima on him left and he was running out of power. He hated using incantations, the boost in power was magnificent but... the lack of mobility and the very apparent intent was a disadvantage that he preferred to do without. Looked like he had no choice. Atrum drained the magic power from the lacrima and started his incantation He used the magic power from his lacrima and his incantation to fuel his war path spell Atrum was filled with power even as he felt the counter attack of the shadow lard hit him peeling chunks of flesh from his body opening wounds on him draining his blood. He was dying he needed to finish this fast. The giant sped up his incantation and activated his warpath spell in earnest, he sped directly towards the Shadow lord feeling his body break down Being damaged by both his own spell and the Shadow lords counter attack. Atrum reached out towards his hated enemies chest screaming like a enraged beast rather than a man. He felt his fingers pierce into The Shadow lords skin even as his vision began to blur. Then the world was engulfed in flame. (End flashback!)
"I do not remember actually killing him, after the explosion I remember weird visions, and voices, and a lot of pain." Atrum trailed off blinking as he struggled to remember what happened to him immediately after the explosion. "I'm probably forgetting some details I feel like I am anyways." he said breathing out feeling like he just let off a whole bunch of stress. He wanted to hit something again, he needed to stretch his legs.

Roxanne finished her food while Atrum told his story in almost grisly detail. To be honest, she had only the slightest more clue who anyone in his story was supposed to be, just like Bellua. Maybe slightly more. "I see..." was all she could say by the time he was done talking. She should have probably had some sort of non-serious quip for it all, just to show how little other people's lives concerned her. It was kind of her thing. Buuut she had saved his life, so it was technically lying to suggest so.
"So, since it turns out you aren't an actual martyr, what do you plan to do next?" Roxy was interested in that. He had several things to go after, and whe wantedto know if it would be his guild, his weapons, or something else. People's priorities were always so interesting. Especially when they helped confirm she was right that her family was alone in theirs.
"That. Was. AWESOME!" Bellua almost shouted covering her mouth as she realized how loud she was. "Sorry, I have no idea who was who in that story but it all sounded so intense. The way Archive mage sounds cool and creepy, how you clearly tried killing an old man, That was all cool, and your blatant disregard for collateral damage caused by your rampage totally proves you're a Fairy Tail ." She said leaning back and sighing. "I love stories like that, though your ending could use some work. Makes you seem more like some sort of monster, Though you pull off the giant guardian monster look pretty well if you ask me." She giggled to herself, she kinda regretting not being around to take part in it, though a lot of people would probably get on her case for being too young back then. She was still in training then.
She calmed down and tried to finish off her plate, while she debated waving down a waiter and getting their check. She wasn't sure she wanted to see how much she and Roxy would be paying. She stared at the plates piled up and tried really hard not to laugh. This was a major set back to her wallet but whatever she had fun. Oh well, now all they had to do now was pay for the meal after they finished up their business here. "This was fun"
"I er..." Atrum blinked trying to answer Roxanne but being entirely too distracted by Bellua... freaking out? He blinked a few times as he absorbed her reaction unsure of what to think of the young woman. Her reactions just stop his thought process every single time. He sighed and composed himself, and decided to get his response to her out of the way "Right I am glad you enjoyed my recollection of the events. Not sure if I should be insulted by that last remark though, being called a monster isn't normally a compliment." He shrugged not sure how to feel about her remarks. "Still it is good that you had fun at least, glad my efforts at least entertained someone." Then he turned to Roxanne.
"Well Next i think I will head in the direction of home let everyone know I am not actually dead. Might head to Crocus first though See if my brother's shop is there there. After that I guess I'll start working jobs and training if no one forces me to rest for extended periods of time." He replied noticing he felt particularly lighter than normal. "I should get a new weapon, or weapons, maybe gauntlets Hells maybe I'll take up Smithing and just make my own." He luaghed at the last part, he knew next to nothing about smithing but he was sure that he could make something halfway decent if he learned. He was about to continue that line of conversation before his expression stopped, and he slammed his hand onto his head. "Where is my hat?! My hat my favorite hat It fell off in the fight and now it's gone! That was my favorite hat it was indestructible and I lost it! How do you lose a Stonewheat hat? Blazing hells!" he growled smacking his fist into his head angrily.
Post by Roxanne Lexington on Aug 8, 2015 3:37:28 GMT
"Chill," Roxanne waved off Atrum's excitableness at the loss of his hat. "Men get so excitable, you know that?" She sat up and placed her arms on the table, leaning towards Atrum. "I'm sure your hat is in a museum somewhere or something. You know, being a leftover artifact from a big battle and all." Well, that or someone had just taken it, but she couldn't imagine anyone else being able to properly wear a hat sized for the giant.
"What sort of weapon's your style? A big club? A bigger sword?" Roxanne held out her hand, and in a ball of flame, an extremely large sword appeared, falling neatly to rest on the ground, handle in Roxanne's hand. She held the hilt out for Atrum to test. "You just seem like you need a big weapon, y'know?" Roxy could unsummon the weapon at any time at the blink of an eye. Sure, she wasn't supposed to have weapons out in the restaurant, but she wasn't really the type to pay attenion to the rules.
"If it's weapons your talking about I know a thing or two, let me see I know I have it somewhere on it can't leave home without it." Bellua murmured reaching into her sleeve and pulling out her tiny arms encyclopedia, weapons, weapons, weapons, she wasn't exactly an aficionado on the things, but she certainly appreciated and loved the things. "You said you used a kanabo? Let's see 'Giant club used by demon-' are you sure you're not some sort of monster? That's a really hardcore backstory for a glorified bludgeoning tool." Bellua wavered her hand back and forth flipping through the book for a bit before snapping it closed, She flashed her new friends a grin as she replaced her book back up her sleeve. "So the point of the club was you taking advantage of your massive size and strength right? Weighted weapons are a good idea, hit things with so much weight they just buckle under the force, cool idea. I t- oh your hat?" Bellua stopped mid sentence as she noticed the change in the atmosphere, atrum was freaking out about a hat?
"You own a invincible hat? That's a weird thing to have Why is your hat the only thing invincible? I've never heard of Stonewheat before- ah I'm getting sidetracked it's probably be easy to find an invincible hat I wouldn't worry about it let's talk about your weapon. and Roxy can just summon swords. Your power is swords, that is both plain and simple while being amazingly awesome at the same time." That sword was huge, could she even pick that up? Well she was stronger than most people thanks to her magic, but still that thing was huge and Roxy could just summon that thing? Bellua made note of the fire that signaled the coming of the over sized slab of metal, there was a lot of firepower in this room if she paid proper attention to her new giant friend's story. Wait was this normal? Three people with the same elemental affinity meeting like this? She thought there was more variety here, or was this just coincidence?
"This hat is not just a hat, I would not be freaking out over it if it was some replaceable article." Atrum said his smile shrinking but not disappearing. "That hat is made of Stonewheat it takes centuries to grow enough of the plant to even make a hat it has been passed down my family for as long as we can trace back." He said leaning back. "I honestly doubt it would be kept in a museum someone in my family would have broken in and taken it if it was... which is bad for me in a completely different way." He said before sighing and leaning back. "I suppose you are right though freaking out about it is not going to help me. Wait what does my gender have to do with how excited I get?" Atrum asked in a confused voice. before Bellua pulled out her encyclopedia.
"You just have one of those on you? I suppose that it is useful." He said turning towards Roxy and taking the offered blade testing it's weight. Impressive weight, good combat blade, fine edge, large size. It was a fine sword, not his normal style but still rather nice. "Rather impressive if I saw so myself, I have seen a lot of swords in my time but it is always nice to see one that stands out from the common fodder that anyone can make with a bit of smiting practice." He paused as his brain processed the two women's comments about his size. "Woah. Hey I may be tall but it's like I'm muscle bound or anything this physique is mostly muscle not wasted space, not like that drunkard Kristoph... or ...Armstrong...." Atrum's voice lowered as he remembered that mission. "But yeah I guess you two are right about me using large weapons, I tend to add my weight and strength to my weapon blows to make them hit harder than they would if you used the weapon normally." He could use the Kanabo one handed with the ease of a normal person using a long sword, he originally chose the kanabo to break his opponents weapons and armor... Maybe he should grab a couple of them this time around.

Roxanne didn't bother explaining what Atrum asked about. It was no secret she was a bit sexist, and in general she didn't care if she insulted someone with her more biased thoughts. He was just confused, so there was nothing to either diffuse or agitate further (usually depending on her mood). "What? Didn't you know all women carry manuals like that in their shirts?" she teased. She thought it was odd too, but there was no way she was telling Atrum that.
She unsummoned the weapon in a bout of flames, sticking her hands in her pockets as she stood up. She had a strong desire to flirt with Bellua some more, but Atrum had most of their attention... which was completely understandable. He didn't seem to have any clues though, and she was suddenly interested in finding out if any more instances of these time displacements had been recorded. It'd been awhile since she had a personal project to work on like this. "At any rate, I have a few things I want to look into as of today," she told the two of them. "If I find a big wheat hat I can't lift, I'll be sure to send something to Fairy Tail to let you know."
She glanced at Bellua and winked again. "As for you, I hope we meet again real soon, alright?" she flipped her hair over her shoulder as the redhead turned around. "I don't think the big guy is going to keel over anytime soon, so I think I'd better get back to work. Take care you two~"
Post by Bellua Daemon on Aug 18, 2015 20:42:31 GMT
(Well time to switch targets now) Bellua smiled As Atrum got teased by Roxy over her 'manual' she knew it was weird, most people don't have books in their shirts, and she had several. Can never be too careful, an extra layer of padding could save your life and the information was always good to have on hand. All in all she didn't see a reason not to have them in her shirt not like she used it for much else other than wearing it, heck she didn't even wear it half the time anyways. Did she just think the word heck? Did she drink something alcoholic? No matter. She was more interested in her new friends. Like the now leaving Roxy- aw! Really? Well she couldn't force her to stay, well she probably could tie her up. no not a good idea they didn't know each other that well yet. Maybe later, sounded like a lot of fun.
"Oh Yeah, I'll definitely see you later, you know where to find me." She waved off Roxy giving her a smile as she left. Not often you run into such a good looking redhead. Well to be fair she didn't run into many red heads anywhere, stroke of good luck this was. Now that Roxy was gone she only had the big guy to keep her company. Well he wasn't half bad looking kinda of a good looking guardian knight kind of thing going on. Not half bad to look at if she said so herself, but he was off limits as prey until he got over his...time displacement? What is going on there anyways? Oh well, strike two of two and she didn't see a third charmer anywhere.
"Well big guy unless you plan on taking me out to do something fun, I think we've exhausted our list of fun things to do. Got anything you feel like doing? Anything at all? I'm not doing anything right now and I'm not sure I want to go get lost in the woods again." She said yawning, trying to hammer home that she was bored. Who know's maybe the giant had something fun for her to do, she was up for just about anything by now.
(Short post apologies(You know what? I may be partially delirious from lack of sleep but I am going all in with this totally missed meaning post. Enjoy Niti the next joke has been hand wrapped for you.))
"Have a good day then." Atrum said bidding Roxy a goodbye as she left. He then figured there wasn't much left to do Bellua would probably lose interest and leave as well....or she could ask him if he had something fun in mind to do....well he did need to work off this meal.... Hmmm. "Well I had a hefty meal I need to work it off somehow, if you are up for a bit of exercise That's what I have in mind next." Atrum shrugged trying not to yawn, he needed to get some sparring in if he was going to stay awake.
"I mean if you are up for it, I am not sure how well I can preform with my injuries. Even then at full health most people are put off by my size. Apparently it is a bit intimidating." He replied looking her over, her body wasn't too developed but she looked like she kept in shape and clearly knew a lot about weapons a sparing match shouldn't be too tall an order. Hells if he was rejected he'd just go punch trees or find a monster to fight or something. "You up for a go?"
(seriously hand delivered)
