Atrum took another step back watching at the thug swung a club that looked much too large for him with relative ease. One the one hand these guys came out of nowhere claiming that he had some serious balls to show his face here again, on the other hand at least the random thugs were getting stronger.he ducked under the swing of the large cliff and slammed his palm into the man's chest feeling his opponent's bones crack under the force. Atrum panted, he was already tired, either he was out of shape, or that four year gap was seriously larger than he thought. Oh well, he wasn't alone anyways. He could heard one of the thugs trying to sneak up behind him and he smirked as the Vargr that accompanied him slammed itself into him snapping it's jaws down upon the man's arm and tossing him into the air.
"What the hell is that!?" One of the Thugs shouted.
"SINCE WHEN DID WOLVES GET THE SIZED OF A FREAKING HORSE? Another sounded with a voice that sounded like he was gargling ear hate.
"DID THAT THING JUST EAT TERRY'S ARM?" And cue the choas, they started panicking. Atrum sighed as he clapped his hands the sound of thunder cracking from his hands as he point one straight up and fired off a Thunderous flame spell.
"Have I got you attention?" Atrum asked as silence fell across the thug. "Now look, I do not wish to hurt you more than I already have, so let us just talk this out. Why are you attacking me?" he asked simple getting a bunch of confused angry looks in response.
"You're telling us that you don't know who we are?" the Ear hate voice man needed to stop talking.
"What happened the other day?" his friend replied
"You attacked us remember?" He then finished to Atrum eternal ire.
"I did not. I have not been to this town for four years, so unless you are all time travelers we have a problem-" Atrum was cut off by the one with the club taking another swing at him. "I could have sworn i broke your ribs. I would prefer that you do not resist, I need you all conscious so I can figure out where my doppelganger went." He growled, catching the club in his hand. "Now talk!"
That was yesterday, today all he had was some vague lead of his copy cat heading northeast. The giant found a park bench to sit on and muse about while the Vargr became puppy sized again, running about back and forth trying to get the locals to play with her. "Morro You should be careful, you never know who might come to play with a small thing like yourself." She said with a smirk earning himself an admonishing yip from the canine's puppy form. "Only a little teasing, I can not help it I am bored and our only lead is worthless because you could not find a scent that seemed correct." he said getting himself another yip. "Might have been." He chuckled at her frustration. "Good gods I hope something makes this trip worth it or I am going to lose what's left of my mind." He sighed, Morro yipped at him again and he rolled his head over to look at her. "I will not go and pick a fight with someone random, I have accumulated too many injuries over this trip I am slowing down, just let me rest a bit." He complained earning his shoe and angry nibble by the small canine before it went back to it's fun. Well at least someone was happy.
Or that was the thought Atrum had until he heard the little one growled, she was threatened. Then Atrum blinked as a dark presence washed over him, something was wrong, terribly wrong. Everything had gone silent and he could hear his heart beating in his chest, he suddenly felt like moving was a terrible idea. He lifted his head anyways and noticed that no one was around anymore, but someone was approaching. He needed to act quickly, he snatched up the pup and dropped her in his pack. He needed to move fast, whatever was approaching was a predator and a damn good one. This feeling of dread was a warning, something he wasn't ready to fight yet was approaching. Pressed for time he ducked behind a tree and slowed down his breathing, the pup would know what to do she was smart.
He could hear the footsteps approaching him getting nearer with every passing moment. His heart had slowed to an almost full stop, he wasn't sure how long he could stay like this, he would need to move soon. The footsteps started approaching the tree stopping just on the other side of it. Atrum could just barely see a shadow a distressingly familiar shadow. Then by the grace of the gods he heard more footsteps, several of them and he strained his ears to hear something else of worth. Then, he did.
"Oh Hey, it's him again!" A voice sounded, it was familiar angry, and oblivious. Atrum recognized it as the voice of one of the thugs he had fought earlier in the day. Had they come back to fight him again? "And he's got his hat on again, gonna pretend you're a different person again mate?"
"That's him alright though now that I get a second look at him something's off y'know?" Ear hate guy, he was here to... that must mean they all came back for vengeance or something like that. The imposing presence hadn't made a move, nor a sound yet. Atrum resisted grinding his teeth and continued to wait.
"Oi what are you doing?" He heard a voice ask as the imposing presence stepped away from the tree, approaching the voices. Atrum felt the area heat up. and the lights in the area danced as if someone had lit a flame.
"Is it just me or is it getting colder here?" another voice asked causing Atrum to blink in confusion. Then the screams started. Only for a few seconds then silence. Atrum hear the sounds of cracking and snapping and caught the scent of burning flesh, the giant was trying to rationalize his reaction. killing someone wasn't hard. but Even the giant who had spent time practicing the art of war since he was born would have taken longer than the single instance that the screams sounded.
There was the sound of footsteps walking away from the area and Atrum stayed still not moving a single muscle until that feeling of utter dread had completely left the area. Once it was safe he let loose a long breath and poked his head out from behind the tree looking to assess the damage. He blinked as he looked around, no bodies, not even burnt ones. there were some scorch marks and what looked like a sword scratch in the area near them but other than that there was no evidence that anything had happened here. Atrum reached into his pack and patted the pup on the head. He hadn't felt like that since he was hunted in to forest of his homeland. He looked around it looked like people were slowly starting to resume the day again. Like nothing at all had happened. Some people made mention of the smell and noticed the scorch marks and the large but shallow cut in the pavement but they all paid it little mind in the end, continuing about their day, unsure that they even saw what they did.
"What in the Blazing Hells just happened?" Atrum asked aloud, some part of him wanted to pursue the creature...but a thought appeared in his head. Loud and clear it's intensity undeniable.
Do not. Pursue. Lu bu.

"Well thats pretty interesting" Said a man with dark skin, dark hair, and emerald green eyes sitting himself down nearby Atrum. He seemed to be one of the people who had been wandering around at the time. "So, Ima take a guess here, someone who looks like you is running around...being all around terrifying, and scary like?" The man asked nonchalantly as he pulled out what was clearly an old style pipe, tapped it out on the wood he was sitting on and pulled a small bag out of his pocket filled with what smelled like herbs rather than tobacco. "Prolly not hard being a giant unmissable bastard that you are."
"Incase you're wondering why I'm guessing that kiddo, a moment ago you just walked inside that building, and well from the scorch marks, you can pretty much just assume what happened to Ear rape guy, and the others." He paused as he lit the pipe and took a breather off it and let out a puff of smoke from his nose. "And now you, again, walk out from behind a tree and are like "What happened here", naturally id be inclined not to believe it, if I did't see it myself." The man's clothes looked easterly, and clearly were made more for comfort than the practicality of Fiore's clothing designers. The man looked Atrum up and done once more and nodded, whether it was because the man was judging him, or approved of something, wasn't noticeable. "So I feel I should mention im going off sound and what happened afterwards for news, I mean I didn't actually see him possibly reduce them to ash, so for all i know he has teleport magic, and just snapped his fingers and sent them to hell." He walked up to the giant of a man and stuck out his free left hand.
"Names Kato, the young'n's call me Kat, for some dumb reason. I'd prefer if you called me Kato."
Atrum gave a passing glance at the man who just showed up and ignored him for a bit. The giant approached some of the scorch marks and knelt down placed a hand on the mark wiping it with his hand and bringing it up to inspect it. Not even a hint of ash. He gave a annoying growl and stood up and looked at the man who approached him. He gave him a look over. Dark tanned Skin, Athletic build that he noticed based on how he moved. A stupidly familiar aura, well he seemed more intelligent than your average fearless member of the public. Atrum glanced back at his hand then back to Kato, well a second perspective on this might be helpful.
"If he did use fire it's intensity was far and away above any of the fire mages here in Fiore. I could not place the magic he was using, felt foreign and unfamiliar." He said rubbing his chin, there was a lot that was hilariously unanswered. "There is a lot that is wrong with what happened, the fact that you mention a building, the fact that apparently you saw a guy who looked like me do this. The fact that one of them mentioned a lack of heat when I clearly felt the temperature rise... There is nothing left of them, but I smelt burning fleck and heard the sound of bones cracking in the heat..." He looked to the sky and glared into it looking for signs of a recent fire. "No signs of smoke either, well baring the stuff you just put into the air, Blazing Hell's that stuff is bitter, you do realize that other people are around here right?" The giant asked looking over to the man.
"Hello Kato I am Atrum, I wish I could say it's nice to meet you but the circumstances means that pleasantries are just not in the stars at the moment." He said scratching his head. That thing had his hat. There was no way he could fight it now.... He had to come up with a plan first. "This is not good at all." He growled angrily.
