"..." At her statement there was a very subtle change in Raven. She'd hit a nerve, One she was going to regret hitting. At first, even as he bounced back from her blocking his attack, nothing seemed to change. But then the little fire ring they'd been in vanished. He stared at her for a moment, the confident grin still on his face. But he was now the predator, and she was prey.
His next movements were much faster and more precise than before. He closed the gap between them and swung his sword hard with one hand. He didn't care if he hit her or her sword, his strength would throw her off balance. Even jumping back wouldn't quite save her from what came next. Regardless of blocking or dodging he pushed his hand out towards her, until it was but inches from her body.
"Dragon Cannon," He spoke the words softly, but the magic was anything but soft. A solid ball of fire shot out of his hand, and if it connected would send her flying back several feet. She might be resistant to his fire in that armor, but she was by no means resistant to impacts. Raven stood where he'd fired the shot and looked to the side. The Templar... they likely played into both their plans. But at this point he didn't care. His tone was calm, despite the anger he felt. "That was a fraction of my true strength, Child. I suggest you stand down or run away."

The change wasn't missed. In fact, it was welcome. No matter how scary the change was as she felt the impact and rolled backwards with it, coming to a skidding halt on three of her four limbs. She'd taken worse. Her own guild hadn't been kind to her when she was younger, claiming it would make her weak. No, at one point she'd been beaten to within an inch of her life by Jorge, who had only had her healed when she was conscious enough to satisfy him that she could fight through pain.
Her sword had vanished after it had been broken in two from the sheer force of Raven's attack. It would repair itself in time, but not in time for her to keep up the fight. Still, her grin grew. She knew his button. She knew he was being more reckless now; the area was starting to burn, and he would be the one they blamed it on regardless. She was home free, and she knew it the moment the dragon slayer gave her the option of running.
Her armor disappeared as she stood up. Her knee was a bit skinned, having not been protected by the metal in the armor, but she was otherwise mostly unharmed. Her pride might have taken a harder hit if she hadn't been banking on his sheer power subtly influencing his decisions.
"Alright, so you're stronger than me at the moment," she shrugged, still wearing the triumphant grin. "But you still lose, Flametongue. See, true strength doesn't come from some stupid magic and it doesn't come from the heart. It comes from in here," she pointed at her temple as she took a step back; the Templars were already flooding the area as she stepped further into the shadows behind her. "This is my cue though. I can't say it wasn't fun." With that, she stepped into the alleyway opposite of the Templars who were more than ready to blame the dragon slayer for the fire damage that Roxy had helped spread before turning and sprinting off again.
"Idiot girl," Jorge smacked her across the face angrily. It hurt a lot, but not as much as her pride. She'd been hauled in by the Templars for sneaking into a bar underage, and held there longer because she'd physically assaulted one who had pressed just the right buttons. "Use your head! You're no good to yourself or anyone in the guild if you get yourself caught or killed you know."
Roxanne flinched more at the sheer amount of anger in the bald man's voice than the physical pain. She'd screwed up. She'd gone to celebrate becoming a full, trusted member of the guild and she'd thrown it away by getting in trouble. Jorge had been there to rescue her, thankfully, but it was still not something she was getting away with without a harsh reprimand. "He didn't respect me!" she retorted angrily. "He told me I was a waste of a life doing what I did! I couldn't just let him get away with that!"
"Yes, you could, girl. There's a time and a place for demanding respect. You can't do it while at someone's mercy, and you can't do it if you're too dead to speak up. You could have gone to prison or worse! And right after your big trial two days ago too!"
Roxanne opened her mouth, but no retort came out. Instead she just deflated. He was right, of course. She would live her life how she chose, just like she always had. But making dumb decisions and making stupid ones were two different things. She'd have to learn to play smarter with the way she was living, especially if she wanted to get stronger and be the Red Blade's most valuable member.
