It took a little maneuvering but they were soon in a quiet part of Cross town. She had to get out of sight, it was a bit strange to be carrying another person and people remember strange things. Ducking into an alley she set the girl on a crate and propped her up against the wall. She was sure glad to see the small crystalline drake as he flew to his owner’s lap. Seeing him nudge the knight’s chin, Razhiel replied “She will be alright. Her head will hurt a bit and once she wakes you cannot let her go to sleep for awhile okay?” She talked as if she were talking to another person, fully expecting him to follow through. Her eyes on her jacket as she rummaged through it. She did not have anything to help with the wound on the girl’s head. Spotting her pack, she looked to the drake. “I am going to look in her pack for something to help bandage her head.” A noise, which she took as encouragement came from the little creature.
Without wasting a moment she had the girl’s wound clean and her head bandaged. When finished, she leaned against the opposite wall in the alley across from her and waited, playing lookout. Her thoughts were lost on recent events and people in her life. She needed to figure out what she was doing with her life. Her general purpose was clear, today was evidence of that. But outside of that. Her actual life. It was hers to live, she was no longer the figure head of an Empire. Unless she wanted to bring together those that were willing to merge again. While she thought herself in circles, she tossed up an unidentifiable stone over and over again.
An exclamation of pain had her looking up and pushing off the wall as she pocketed the stone. She almost leapt forward when the girl stood up suddenly and wobbled. It seemed the knight was alright… Razhiel retracted that thought as the girl’s eyes swept past her and asked where Razhiel had went.
“Actually you saved us. So thank you. I merely did the kidnapping.” A grin upon her face at the last. Looking at their surroundings, “It was getting a bit crowded so I had to relocate us. But yes, your magic is quite powerful. The dark magic is gone, as is the demon. Both humans were alive when we left.” She included the girl in it as if she had also made the decision to leave. Razhiel stuck her hand out for a second time. “Razhiel Takashi is my name. And I appreciate your help at the auction.”
"Ahah!" Pyrrha rubbed both of her eyes with her fists, blinking out the last remaining fuzziness. "Guess I got a little overly excited," she gave one of those cute grins and a peace sign with her fingers "I saved us, huh? I guess it actually did work." She looked down at her left hand, flexing it as if testing to make sure it wasn't hurt - she'd touched a sword, it was probably good to check."Er, thanks for the bandages and stuff. I hope it doesn't leave a scar..." she winced as she touched the bandage. It definitely hurt a lot.
The woman introduced herself as Razhiel Takashi, which Pyrrha didn't recognize due to her family's general isolation. "Er, did I introduce myself before?" she rubbed the uninjured back of her head nervously, realizing she'd forgotten more manners than she'd meant to. A noble girl like her needed to at least know when to introduce herself! "I'm Pyrrha Drakos, Dracoknight of Lady Belfyire and part time hero, I guess," she chuckled, giving a small curtsy, mostly for flair.
Regarding the knight’s bandaged head, “It should not, I used a type of skin glue rather than stitches. And I cleaned it really well… Though I would not recommend you hit your head anytime soon. The bruising will be the worst but that will go away eventually.”
Razhiel bowed her head in acknowledgement. “It has been a pleasure to meet you Pyrrha and your partner Bloo… Everyone is a hero to someone.” She added as an afterthought, stinking her thumbs in her pockets. “So I was thinking about your search for that special artifact. Where I came from we would have special holding areas for magical artifacts. There would be a place at our military headquarters…” As they conquered new lands, anything magical was sent there until it could be sorted into a specific category and sent off to another place. “There was a display room in the castle.” The emperor had a specific set of items he used himself along with those he deemed display worthy or too dangerous to be held elsewhere. “There was also a department dedicated to unlocking the mysteries of magical artifacts and the creation of new magical technology.” Or more like a mad scientist that’s sole mission was to conquer the world.
Nodding her head in the direction of the street, “Lets refuel with food. You should probably drink some water.” Without waiting for a reply, she strode off.
The place was simple, local. It served pizza and sandwiches. Booths and tables in columned order. The color theme was red and white, quite a contrast if you asked Razhiel. A family, two couples, and three individuals sat in various places already eating. Razhiel sat down at a booth and immediately raised her hand, she was starving. “Large pepperoni pizza, sweet tea.”

Pyrrha considered what Razhiel had said while trying not to scratch or poke at her head wound. It hurt a lot, but it was also starting to itch. Maybe it was the glue. Maybe she just wanted to poke at it and see how bad it was with her hands. Either way, Bloo protested every time she tried, and she had sort of given up, save for occasionally trying to poke when the dragon's attention was somewhere else.
Apparently her government would have kept the egg somewhere like a military base or even on display at their government. It was certainly something to consider... but she also knew that for a long time the people of Fiore had considered dragons extinct when their own disappeared. People had decided they'd died off suddenly or something. She wasn't sure; she'd just found texts and asked a few people some 'hypothetical' questions at one point. That didn't point towards it being on display, and with the tales of war and things, it seemed like someone would have made off with an egg by now if it were there. Still... she'd definitely have to keep that in mind when she got there.
She realized suddenly that they'd already sat down and Razhiel was ordering. She was sure Raz would blame it on her head wound, but in truth she'd just been considering what she'd been told. Also she'd been pouting a bit about everyone being so worried about her. It was just a stupid cut, no matter how much it stung and itched. "Oh, er, I'll have water I guess," she ordered as well. "Actually... what's a pizza? They don't have those where I come from. Should I get a large pizza too?"
A short laugh was accompanied by Pyrrha’s question of getting a large pizza as well. “We can share, a large is pretty big… A pizza is like bread topped with sauce and cheese and meat then baked. I stand by it.” Her gaze turned to Bloo, “Though I am unsure about Bloo. What does he normally eat?” The crystalline draco was certainly a beautiful creature.
Shrugging out of her cloak, she let it pool at her waist and onto the booth. With a sigh she stretched from side to side. “Unlike where I am from, Fiore does not have much of a military and their government is more of a council. Pure speculation but the headquarters of the Templars and the headquarters of the Magic council might have magical items. Otherwise there are various guilds whose home bases might have items of value.” Razhiel speculated as she elaborated on what she was talking about previously. Because the actual form of the artifact was unknown and it was unknown if it gave off a magical signature it made the search nigh impossible. Violet eyes on Pyrrha, “I am a foreigner myself but I would be willing to help in any way.” She gave a half shrug with a small smile as she thought of the dracoknight’s mission.

Bread topped with sauce, cheese, and meat, huh? How could Pyrrha say no to three ingredients she recognized that all sounded good at the same time? She grinned an almost excited grin, giving Razhiel a nod. "OH!" she cried out, stopping the man. "Soda instead of water please!" she called out to the one taking the order, deciding to treat herself after getting a head wound for her troubles.
"Bloo usually shares what I have. We're like two peas in a pod. Even my brothers find it weird," she admitted. "But it works and he's a fan of people food anyway." Bloo squawked his approval at her offer to share the food, pushing head head against her arm. It was more than likely just residual relief that Pyrrha seemed okay. She giggled and scratched his chin. "You're weird," she chided.
It seemed Raz had more to say about the dragon egg. She told Pyrrha about the country, admitting that she herself was a foreigner. Having more than one ruler just sounded messy to Pyrrha, but she supposed not everyone could have a wise dragon that took care of them. "Well, I guess I have nothing better to do. After this I'll head that direction," she shrugged. "Though I kind of doubt it's fallen into their hands already. Someone was walking around with it about a month ago..." she frowned. How in the world was she actually supposed to find this thing? It could be anywhere. What if it had left the country?!
Raz rested her chin in the palm of her hand, her elbow on the table. She hummed a bit as she thought. “That will be hard. Someone, no description, was walking around Fiore with it. Hard but not impossible.” Leaning back as the waiter came back with their drinks, she paused. Taking a drink, she sighed in contentment. “On the bright side you get to travel to different places. What is your take on Fiore so far?” She had mixed feelings about the country herself but she attributed that to her own origins.
The waiter came with their food and set it on the table. The crust was golden brown, the cheese extra gooey, and the pepperoni crispy. Razhiel was starving. Plates were set before them and the waiter left. Razhiel smiled and nodded. “ It smells great. Go ahead, you first.” Grabbing her own slice after waiting, she placed it on her plate. “So what is it like where you are from? I know you have Lady Belfyire but beyond that?” That was a side to her not many saw, she was always curious. Lifting the slice of pizza up and taking a bite, she grinned. Pizza may just well be her favorite illogical food.

Hard but not impossible. Lady Belfyire had told her as much. The dragon wished she could go, but she knew of Fiore's hatred of dragons, and well, while the Lady had a lot of tricks that supposedly even other dragons didn't remember, passing herself off as human wasn't one of them. So since Pyrrha was here instead, what was her take on Fiore? She took a slice of the pizza as it was placed in front of them, blowing on it when she realized how hot it was. "Well, the people are rude, they have no confidence in a girl my age because apparently I'm not an adult here, and they just can't accept that I can be both cute and more competent than them." she glared off to the side at her explanation of her experiences in Fiore so far.
"I swear just because I'm adorable and young and on my own it makes me an automatic target." She took a somewhat angry bite of her pizza at the thought, but the look vanished when she took the time to taste it. "Wow. This *is* pretty good..." she admitted, taking another bite. She did have to stop long enough to both answer Raz's question and get Bloo a piece. She didn't so much mind sharing what she had as she was pretty sure people here would find it as weird as her mother did when she had tried at the table once.
"Home is... different than here," she had to think of how to describe what was standard to her. "We have a lot of different things because there's not a lot of outside influence. Some stuff is more advanced, other things are way behind, and I guess it just kinda depends on what people have thought they needed to invent," she shrugged. "We have all the fancy stuff like the lacrima powered homes and stuff, but the food is a lot different. It's really mountainy on the island. Which, by the way, is actually quite big for an island. But only one side is mountainy the other side is pretty flat and good for growing things. Our clothes are different, but I kinda think the clothes here are cute. I might have to get some for when I'm not traveling or I need to wash my robes..."
Pyrrha’s description of the Fiorian people startled a laugh out of her. She had to quickly set down her pizza and cover her mouth as she gave a quiet cough and another laugh. Taking a healthy sip of her drink and setting it down Razhiel finally responded. “Does not sound like very good first impressions. When I was your age I was already in the military, fighting in battles. They should remember that they used to begin training battle mages at 16.” With a sideways grin she added, “The side effect of being adorable and a girl- either having unwanted rescuers or being the center of villainous plans. Damn being adorable.” She joked teasingly. She could see how Pyrrha would encounter that, especially depending on the part of Fiore she were in.
Taking more bites of her pizza slice as Pyrrha talked about her home, she listened aptly. A self sustaining populace without trade. She could only imagine the amount of power that dragon must have. “Must have been a complete culture shock coming to Fiore.” Pyrrha’s description of her home reminded her of her devil slayer origins and the town of Banish. It was isolated, on purpose, specifically for the reason of its devil slayer heritage.
Grabbing her second slice of pizza, she proceeded to munch on it. Leaning back, she ran her hand through her hair and rubbed her head. She liked short hair better and hers was now a little past her shoulders.

"Damn indeed..." Pyrrha couldn't help but grin as she echo'd the line. She had, in fact, been rescued at least once when she didn't need it (in fact she'd done all the work). She'd also gotten her gold stolen on accident, forgetting about it in the face of the girl near her age that she'd rescued. "Oh well. I guess it's a burden I'll have to bear until I'm finally old and grey~" she mused, sticking her tongue out at Bloo.
"Yeah, the culture is very... different. They're hellbent on being free of everything. Maybe too much," she admitted, thinking specifically of one man in particular. "And worse, half of them don't respect Bloo for the intelligent drake he is! He's as smart as any human even if he can't talk like us," she insisted. Bloo puffed up at the praise, especially in front of Razhiel.
The pigtailed girl scarfed down more pizza, happily enjoying the Fiore treat. Was it a Fiorian dish? She'd have to inquire about that at some point when she was feeling a bit more curious. She reached up to scratch the painful itch on her head as she pondered, earning a tail slap to the hand from her companion, who lectured her in its own drake tongue.
‘Old and grey’ now that was amusing. At the mention of people being ‘hellbent on being free,’ one man came to mind. At the cross look on Pyrrha’s face it seemed she too was thinking of someone in particular and Razhiel could not help but wonder if they were thinking of the same person. She felt it was odd that people did not respect Bloo. To be fair the dracoknight said half. Razhiel mused there had to be people out there that did not like animals, and the drake would fall under that category to most. Maybe it was her Valland origins that left her fascinated by dragons… or maybe her own dragon made her biased. She could not help but think that the drake was a mini dragon and all the more special for his intricate appearance unique personality. A soft chuckle escaped her lips as the drake in question swelled with pride. “That is unimaginable. You make a very fine partner I am sure.” Razhiel responded, talking to Bloo.
As the drake kept Pyrrha from scratching her wound Razhiel smiled, “See, he even knows when you should not touch your own wound.” Maybe it had something to do with her previous title and its necessity to constantly be around people which made animals, drakes included, a lot more appealing.
Drinking the rest of her sweet tea, “I cannot say you won’t get more disappointments during your travels throughout Fiore but there are good people here and some who are a bit different. It is just a matter of chance meetings… I will be heading further west towards the coast after this but my offer still stands if you should need any help.”

"I know not to touch it! It just itches..." Pyrrha complained, scrunching the eye nearest the wound shut as she tried not to scratch it. Now that she was thinking about it it was soooo much worse. If she weren't so mature and refined as a noble girl she'd have probably been rolling on the floor scratching and then regretting it.
Pyrrha nodded when told there were good people in Fiore, as well as 'different' (aka weird, translated in Pyrrha's head) people. "I seem to get all the weird ones. First a blond kid who thought getting himself caught by bandits was somehow helping me. Then some other blond girl who I won't even get into things about, then some jerk named Tracen who thinks I'm the stupid one for helping Lady Belfyire..." she rolled her eyes. "You're the first sane person I've spent time with. It's kinda nice actually."
She did suppose they'd both delayed quite a while here, though at least Razhiel had actually accomplished something. It was a little disheartening that they were going opposite directions, admittedly. As she'd mentioned aloud, Raz was the first person she'd really felt like she got along with. Blondie wouldn't have been so bad, if he hadn't been so full of himself and driving her crazy every second. "I'm headed the opposite direction I guess. Might as well check out new places and stuff. Plus I've never been to a city as big as I hear the ones around there are!"
Razhiel grinned, "If it itches it means that it is healing. Even if itching is the last thing you want it to do." She remembered when the cut on her chest started healing, it had not been fun. She had went so far as to wrap her hands in cloth when she went to sleep.
It was amusing as Pyrrha began to list the people she had met thus far that she considered weird. At the mention of Tracen, the smile was brought down a couple notches. She was not sure where they stood exactly and that was actually who she was meeting in the next town over. And she realized she had been right when Pyrrha mentioned freedom the knight was thinking specifically of one person. "I do know Tracen and he can be a bit intense. But in his defense, his story is quite jaded." She left it at that but laughed outright at her being the first sane person Pyrrha has met. "I have my moments trust me but I take that as a compliment."
She thought of Grand City and Magnolia. "Yes, they have some really large cities. Grand City is the new capital and is quite beautiful." Razhiel stood and stretched. "After my business in the next town over I'll head inland, I'll see you again."

Pyrrha grinned and nodded at the idea of a place literally named "Grand" city. Was it pretentious or just a goal to aim for? Who knew? With these weird Fiorians it could be either one, but maybe the city itself would be as grand as the name said. Razhiel seemed to vouch for it, and Pyrrha trusted Raz more than just about anyone else she'd met since coming to Fiore. "Fiore is pretty big compared to my home. It seems like it'd be unlikely to cross each other again. Then again..."
she rolled her eyes at a thought that crossed her mind. "A lot of unlikely things seem to happen here. Maybe that's why it's special, and less because of people's weird ideas." Belfyire had indicated that Fiore was a land more rich in magic than anywhere else. Pyrrha sort of wished she had a connection to it like Bloo or Belfyire did so it would be a bigger deal, but since she was more the opposite of magical than magical, she just knew that meant the wizards would be stronger here because they'd be drawn here.
"Tell you what," she grinned, wiping her mouth off now that she'd scarfed down her pizza. "You promise we'll bump into each other again, and I promise to tell you all about the cool things that happen, not just the weird unpleasant people I bump into." She might even answer more questions about Belfyire or her island if she was actually interested enough to ask later. She did miss getting to talk about home with someone who didn't flip out about dragons.
Though Pyrrha had said her island was mountainous she would think Fiore is bigger. Razhiel had yet to travel it all, what she had travelled was quite vast. She was curious about Pyrrha’s homeland. About to tell Pyrrha about the unlikely being likely here in Fiore but Pyrrha beat her to it. A grin accompanied Pyrrha’s comment about Fiore possibly not being special for all the peoples’ weird ideas.
“I promise that not only will we bump into each other again, but I will bump into you.” Smiling, Razhiel looked confident in that. “I look forward to that, I am sure you will come across more weird people and hopefully even cooler things. And maybe we can even swap dragon stories.”
Standing, she grabbed the cloak pooled on the booth. “Don’t get discouraged… by your mission or by the people.” Lifting the glass, she drank the last of the tea. Placing jewels on the table for the lunch she continued. “And be alert. There is not just your everyday bandits, there are also dark guilds- groups of wizards dedicated to causing chaos of the dark kind.” Reaching over, she stroked the drake.
