Mikazuki warriors were known throughout the land as some of the toughest, strongest adventurers around. Rumor had it that the curse of the family had struck again in the recent past. A Mikazuki Maiden had, apparently, been born and was known to have vanished rather than shame her family. What rumor didn't know was that she hadn't really just disappeared for the good of her family. In fact she had been on the road working bit jobs from town to town. Now she was in Shirotsume Town, working as a waitress in the maid cafe 'Shady Corner'. Marion Mikazuki worked part time there during the morning shift, helping get the cafe set up for opening and doing some of the baking.
This wasn't how a tough warrior should be spending her time but there really wasn't much choice in the matter. Marion wasn't finding any work whatsoever as a warrior and food wasn't exactly free. Somehow she had to get enough money to eat and have a place to stay, so random assorted jobs it was. Here she was at least able to use her combat outfit since that happened to be in the form of a maid uniform. Nobody would know that it was what it was due to how well it blended in with her surroundings of course. In her travels she hadn't seen any real combat in it so pretty much it was only useful as working attire.
Today was looking to be pretty slow. The cafe had opened about an hour previously and yet there were no customers there at all. Occasionally they got Guild members to visit but that was a pretty rare occurrence lately. Marion sighed as she swept the floor while she awaited any customers at all. If business didn't pick up she was likely to get laid off and then it would be time to head to another town for yet another new job. There weren't any treasure troves to raid lately so it wasn't like she was going to get mysteriously wealthy all of a sudden. Just as the thought crossed her mind the little bells on the door jingled and she immediately dismissed her broom. It was showtime!
With a quick spin she faced the door and bowed, "Welcome home, master!"
"Um... I'd be more of a Mistress if I had followers..." Tyr stated, confused, when she entered through the door. She'd wanted to see what sort of place had such a wierd name. To be honest, she'd had no idea what she was even looking for the place to be. "You have a fun looking frilly outfit~ I kind of want one." She pulled at the hem of her own dress-like pink tunic, examining it. "People have such fun different clothes. I should really get more than this and my bathing suit..." Tyr gasped as she realized something important.
"Hey wait! I knew I recognized your scent! You're that girl that was dressed like a boy at the swimsuit place, aren't you?! Neat! I like meeting familiar faces." She was rambling and she realized it. "Oh! heheh. I'm Tyr by the way. Remember me?" She gave a big grin. She hardly cared that she was being weird; she didn't really try to fit in perfectly with humans. "You were really good at that taking money and handing me the swimsuit I handed you job!"

The instant the green haired girl entered the cafe Marion was struck by two things. Firstly that she seemed rather familiar, as if they'd crossed paths before. Given how many temporary jobs Marion had held in the past few months that made it very difficult to peg just where she'd seen the girl before. Marion had met many people during her travels, none of whom ever recognized her as anyone other than another employee. So when the girl suddenly turned around and claimed recognition Marion was taken aback. Was this someone from her family? Or maybe someone who knew the legend of the Mikazuki Maiden? Thankfully neither. She'd just been a customer at the swimsuit shop which Marion had worked at a week or two before. Which made her recall the other thing that struck her about the girl; she was incredibly energetic.
Other maids would've been put off by someone with so much spontaneity and energy, but Marion found it refreshing. Someone who enjoyed life and didn't care who knew. There was something more to the energy as well, which inexplicably drew Marion to Tyr. More than just as a maid tending to her customer too. It was as if this girl's presence called to her, reached out to her desires and promised they might be made real. With that in mind Marion gave a deep curtsy and motioned for Tyr to follow her to the nearest table. Might as well do her job while trying to learn more about this girl.
"Welcome back, Mistress Tyr," she spoke demurely, flashing a modest smile, "I'm glad you remember me, because I remember you. It's a pleasure to meet you again.. what brings you to Shady Corner?"
"Oh! You remember me?" Tyr couldn't help but ask as she sat down at the table. She had no idea how such weird places worked. She wasn't even sure what was going on - she'd just wanted to ask what the place was supposed to be for and leave... since... well... she didn't really have any money. "Was it because I tried on both of those bathing thingies at once? Because apparently that's strange, but I was trying to be efficient," she explained distractedly. "Well, maybe it was just how cute I am in general. This form has the most adorable hair and stuff. I'm starting to like it quite a bit," she was already rambling happily as she tended to do.
"Oh, er, anyway, Uh, curiosity. What's a shady corner? I mean, it had such a weird name and I'm still learning to read Fiorian so I didn't know what the rest of it said," Tyr scratched her head. The Fiorian language was one of the more confusing to learn. She'd been at it a few years, but the written form just eluded her. "Also, what's your name? And how do I get a cute frilly dress thing like yours?"

Marion laughed lightly, "Your approach to trying on swimwear was most original, mistress. It would be hard for anyone to forget such an adorable sight. Though you are correct that wearing both items at once is in fact quite strange to most people in Fiore, since one is seen as being quite enough. However, who am I to tell you what is proper to do? I'm merely here to serve you however you see fit." With that she gave a curtsy and placed a menu on the table before Tyr. Something occurred to her in that moment about the green haired girl who had a hard time understanding how Fiore worked. It was possible that she didn't have any local coin, which meant that she wasn't actually a paying customer at all. And though she knew that the head maid at the cafe would disapprove she decided to offer charity to the adorable girl.
Bending over to look the girl in the eyes she explained, "A shady corner is simply a place in which the shade of a tree provides a comfy spot to enjoy some tea. We're a cafe that caters to whatever our guests require, and we provide those things with a smile. This menu has pictures of our food and drinks so that you can more easily understand what we offer. Don't worry about the prices either.. for you, Mistress Tyr, I will pay for whatever you wish to try. It's the least I can do for you brightening my day."
Then she giggled a little, "You can get one of our dresses by being hired to work here. It's like.. a uniform for waitresses here, except we're maids. Strange, isn't it? My name is Marion, Mistress Tyr, and it's a pleasure to serve you."
So wait? Did shady places cost human coins too? Tyr tilted her head inquisitively as she considered this thought. As a dragon she avoided having coin mostly because she would then have the natural desire to keep all of it. Shiny, valuable things were like candy to dragons. Some of them literally slept on their collections to make sure no one else could have or use them. They were kinda selfish though, and Tyr didn't want to be that kind of dragon.
"I know! You give me the best idea! I want to try whatever weird thing is going on right here! But what if I helped with stuff for the day to pay it off since I don't have money? I'd hate to take your human coin things!" she nodded to herself proudly. She didn't move in the slightest as Marion bent down, whereas someone might naturally move even the slightest bit away in order to maintain personal space.
She picked up the menu, turning it sideways and settling for upside down. The angle of the food did wonders for showing how delicious it really looked. "I want one with meat," she decided. "I don't need the vegetables and bread and stuff. Those things are gross." she nodded to herself proudly, slapping the menu down quickly (but not roughly) as she stood back up to introduce herself as well. "I'm Tyr!" she grinned a big grin and mimicked a poor version of a curtsy with her dress-like pink tunic. It felt appropriate.
