Appearance
Larke is the one successful cloned dragon slayer, taken from DNA left by Kotone from her short time spent in Valland. As such, she looks exactly like a child version of her - long brown hair, copper eyes, and an undeniably cute features. She appears to be about nine to ten years old - the spitting image of Kotone at the age the dragon Krendall had left Fiore. To those with special senses, she even appears to be a young version of Kotone if they were to pick up her scent. She’s an expressive girl, her moods readily visible on her face, whether she’s happy or sad. She tends to fidget, especially with her hands when she’s idle. Despite her appearance, she’s actually younger than even she realizes. She’s a bit clumsy at times, but this comes from having a strength and power far beyond what she should have for her age. She’s untrained, and thus unable to fully control the abilities she inherited from the ice dragon slayer.
personality
Larke is an energetic young girl who loves to get out and see the world. Unlike the person whose DNA she shares, she doesn’t see herself as any sort of protector. In fact, she goes about her life not knowing that she’s a clone or that her powers stem from dragon slayer magic. She’s a kind, excitable, and curious. She’s a child, and one who’s both smart and ignorant - largely due to the fact that she’s only three years old.
Larke has been raised as a wanderer. She’s seen cities from countries all over the continent, and as such she’s more familiar with other people and cultures than many people much older than her. She’s never had a home life, and she finds herself curious about normal things just as much as what other people would find interesting. Nothing is constant for the girl, and that means everything stays new much longer.
That said, the few things that she can keep constant, she does. Larke enjoys familiar clothes, familiar foods, and familiar faces. She’s moved around for as long as she can remember, and for all she knows, she has been longer than that. What person wouldn’t enjoy the few things they can call comforting whenever they were allowed?
Larke was the 9th experiment to attempt to copy the powers of a dragon slayer through cloning and harnessing their DNA. Fortunately for Larke (and unfortunately for the program) General Nox and his hidden laboratories fell. The scientists were ordered to destroy the experiments, removing all traces of their involvement with the Warlord as they went into hiding until the situation in Valland settled down. One man, Doctor Kiyoshi, took pity on the young form growing in the tube. Instead of destroying her, he awakened her and claimed she was killed. He went into hiding, wandering the former territories with the young girl. He decided to name her Larke, the name his late wife would have given their daughter had they had one, and raised her as his own.
Larke lived the next few years on the move, a girl who, for all she knew, simply couldn’t remember her life more than a few years ago. She moved around the continent, between all of the territories found throughout the former Valland Empire. Unknown to her, she was a wanted girl; her DNA housed the blueprints for cloning the very abilities of the mighty dragon slayers.
Her “Father,” of course, knew this, though he was afraid to influence her too much by telling her the truth. He did his best to raise her without explaining her past, why she couldn’t remember it, and why they were always moving around. As a result, she became a girl with great power, but no real refinement. She was curious and innocent instead of the weapon she was built to grow up to be. No secret can be kept forever, however, and whether this was the best choice remains to be seen.
When they arrived in Fiore, Larke's father decided it would be a good place to settle and hide. Here, magic was more common, and Larke had a better chance of finding someone who could teach her to control her abilities. The pair were tired of moving around their entire lives, and Larke needed to socialize with others more regularly anyway. A new life begins for the unsuspecting clone girl under the watchful eyes of the Templars. With luck, she'll grow to be strong, confident, and safe from those who would use her for evil.
Primary Magic
Name: Cloned Dragon Slayer Description: Larke’s abilities are a variation on the dragon slayer abilities of one of Fiore’s heroes. She uses ice magic with a dragon slayer slant, though she knows relatively little of the dragon slayer specific abilities. She’s immune to cold but doesn’t tend to eat ice or ice spells. In fact, she’s not much of a warrior at all. She knows the basics - that is, just enough to delay the bad guys and get away from trouble, but she knows nothing of how to make use of the incredible physical strength and endurance of dragon slayers.
Signature Ability
Name: Deep Freeze Element: Ice Description: Larke can concentrate her admittedly impressive magical energy to flash freeze just about anything. Most materials become more brittle when frozen by this ability, and she can use it to break things she wouldn’t be able to break. Alternatively, she can use the ability to create a less than fun slip and slide for pursuers.
